SPLM AREA SECRETARIAT INAUGURATES SPLM HOUSE AND LAUNCHES MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION

Abyei – 21st August 2026.
H.E. Cde. Justice Charles Abyei Jok, Chairperson of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) and Chief Administrator of the Abyei Special Administrative Area, today presided over the official inauguration of the SPLM House and the launch of SPLM membership registration at the SPLM House in Gungbial.
The ceremony was attended by senior SPLM leaders and members, including members of the National Convention, members of the Area Liberation Council, the SPLM Caucus, and members of SPLM structures at the county, payam, and boma levels. Members of the SPLM Youth League and SPLM Women’s League also attended the occasion.
In his address, H.E. Cde. Justice Charles Abyei Jok urged all SPLM members to renew their membership registration and actively participate in strengthening the party's organizational structures.
The SPLM Chairperson further emphasized the importance of membership registration as the SPLM prepares for the elections scheduled for December 2026. He called upon all SPLM members and structures to remain committed, organized, and actively engaged in the electoral preparations.
The inauguration of the SPLM House represents a significant milestone in the institutional development of the SPLM in the Abyei Special Administrative Area.

H.E. Cde. Justice Charles Abyei Returns to the Abyei Special Administrative Area Following Successful Official SPLM Mission.

H.E. Cde. Justice Charles Abyei has safely returned to the Abyei Special Administrative Area after successfully concluding a one-month official mission of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Juba.
His Excellency was accompanied by Cde. David Kiir Atem, SPLM Secretary, and Cde. Ayuak Rokdit Deng, SPLM Spokesperson.
Upon arrival at Agok Airstrip in Rumamer County, H.E. Cde. Justice Charles Abyei received a warm and enthusiastic reception from the Deputy Chief Administrator, Members of the Abyei Area Legislative Council, ministers, county commissioners, the SPLM Secretariat, the SPLM Youth League, the SPLM Women's League, traditional leaders, and hundreds of community members.
Following a brief stop in Agok, His Excellency proceeded to the Alal County Headquarters in Awolnhom, where he greeted the large gathering of residents who had assembled to welcome him. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude for their warm reception and unwavering support before continuing his journey to Abyei Town.
Upon his arrival in Abyei, His Excellency was accorded a jubilant welcome by SPLM members, supporters, sympathizers, and the wider community. The overwhelming reception demonstrated the people's confidence in his leadership and reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace, unity, stability, and sustainable development across the Abyei Special Administrative Area.

SPLM Liberation Council, Abyei Special Administrative Area Holds First Liberation Council Meeting
The SPLM Liberation Council in the Abyei Special Administrative Area convened its inaugural Liberation Council meeting yesterday at the SPLM Secretariat Headquarters in Abyei Town.
The meeting was chaired by H.E. Cde. Justice Charles Abyei Jok, Chairperson of the SPLM and Chief Administrator of the Abyei Special Administrative Area.
Council members received quarterly reports presented by the SPLM Secretariat. Deliberations focused on the review and reorganization of the SPLM Liberation Council structure, as well as preparations for the upcoming general elections scheduled for December 2026.
In a significant development, county commissioners were sworn in as SPLM Chairpersons for their respective counties, including Abyei Municipality, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen party leadership structures at the grassroots level.
The meeting marks an important milestone in enhancing coordination, organizational efficiency, and readiness for upcoming political activities.
