USAP Leadership Meeting No. 4


The United Sudan African Party (USAP) Leadership, under the chairmanship of the legitimate Chairman, Hon. Joseph Malek Arop, today convened its fourth leadership meeting to deliberate on key political and organizational matters affecting the Party.
The meeting considered a comprehensive briefing by the Chairman on the Party's ongoing political activities, the implementation of the Political Alliance Memorandum, reports from USAP Chairpersons representing the ten States and the three Administrative Areas, as well as a report from the Chairman of the USAP National Youth League in Juba.

The leadership meeting was conducted in an atmosphere of unity, mutual respect, and constructive dialogue.

Members held productive deliberations and unanimously adopted strategic resolutions and action points aimed at strengthening the Party's structures, enhancing coordination, and accelerating the implementation of its programmes at both the national and state levels.

In his keynote address, Hon. Joseph Malek Arop reaffirmed USAP's unwavering commitment to peaceful democratic engagement, national unity, and inclusive political cooperation. He directed all State and Administrative Area Chairpersons to work closely with leaders of the SPLM and other political parties in their respective jurisdictions in the spirit of dialogue, partnership, peaceful coexistence, and nation-building.

The Chairman further emphasized that USAP remains fully committed to working with all its political allies and counterparts to promote peace, stability, democratic governance, and sustainable development across the Republic of South Sudan.

The leadership expressed confidence in the Party's continued growth and called upon all members to remain united, disciplined, and dedicated to advancing the vision and objectives of USAP for the benefit of the people of South Sudan.

SPLM SG Meets USAP Leadership to Strengthen National Unity
June 24, 2026

SPLM Secretary General Cde. Dr. Akol Paul Kordit engaged with a delegation from the United Sudan African Party (USAP), led by Chairman Hon. Joseph Malek Arop, the Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.

The delegation extended their warmest congratulations to SPLM Chairman and President of the Republic of South Sudan, H.E. Cde. Salva Kiir Mayardit for the reappointment of H.E. Cde. James Wani Igga and the appointment of Cde. Dr. Akol Paul Kordit as the SPLM Secretary General, expressing their renewed optimism that the stability of the SPLM is critical for the stability of the nation.

The USAP leader reaffirmed their unwavering alliance with the SPLM, highlighting a partnership that has been deeply rooted since the days of the liberation struggle and solidified through collaborative milestones like their 2007 convention commending SPLM role in the liberation and bring about the referendum that led to the independence of South Sudan.

The USAP prepares for their upcoming national convention, which will gather 500 delegates from ten states and three administrative areas, in anticipation for the upcoming general elections and expressed their continued support for the SPLM’s vision and leadership to steer the country during this critical time.

This ongoing cooperation reflects a shared commitment to the stability, unity, and progress of the nation as both parties look ahead to the upcoming elections.
