The Chairperson of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Greater Pibor Administrative Area, Cde. Gola Boyoi Gola, today officially launched the renewal of the SPLM membership registration exercise and the official campaign for the SPLM Party's Chairman and Presidential candidate, H.E. Cde. Salva Kiir Mayardit, in preparation for the upcoming general election scheduled for December 2026.
The rally was attended by SPLM delegates, including Cde. Gen. Kennedy G*in, member of the SPLM National Liberation Council; Cde. Ogebe Ochan, SPLM Deputy Chairperson, GPAA; Cde. Margaret Gola, Deputy Chairperson for National Social Welfare and Services; and Cde. Lauryen Ibon, Member of the National Legislative Assembly.
In his remarks, Cde. Gen. Kennedy G*in emphasized the importance of maintaining peace during the pre-election period and after the elections. He rallied the crowd for a massive turnout in the upcoming general elections scheduled for 22 December 2026.
In his address, Cde. Gola Boyoi Gola underscored that this exercise is a direct outcome of the resolutions adopted during the SPLM Leadership Meeting held in Juba, which directed that all ten states and three administrative areas shall return to their respective regions to launch and oversee the membership registration process. He emphasized that the exercise goes beyond the simple renewal of membership, calling it a renewal of the SPLM's commitment to the people of South Sudan. Stating that, "We have to renew our membership, we have to renew our commitment, we have to renew our vision, and we have to renew our mission."
Cde. Gola stressed that the SPLM remains unwavering in its dedication to the people, noting that the Party is ready and committed to rise again to a new beginning for South Sudan.
Cde. Gola also reflected on the long journey of South Sudan, noting that the nation has endured too many transitions over the past 15 years โ an endless cycle that must be brought to an end during the upcoming election.
Highlighting the proud history of the region, Cde. Gola Boyoi noted that Greater Pibor Administrative Area is an SPLM stronghold, with a deep legacy of involvement in the SPLM liberation struggle paying tribute to national liberation figures such as Ngachigak Ngachiluk and many other fallen heroes, as well as living liberators like Gen. Kennedy G*in and many more, affirming that GPAA has played a crucial role in the liberation of South Sudan.
He concluded by calling upon the people of Greater Pibor Administrative Area to register for the upcoming elections in large numbers and to rally behind the Party's Presidential flagbearer in the December 2026 elections.
