WARAP STATE PEACE TOURNAMENT FINAL TO GO ON AS PLANNED
JUBA – The Grand Final and Third Place match of the Warrap State Peace Tournament will go on as planned, the tournament leadership has confirmed.
This comes after a meeting today between the leadership of the Warrap State Peace Tournament, led by President Deng Dut Parek Dut and Vice President Makuac Bol Aweengdit, and Hon. Bush Buse, the Central Equatoria State Minister of Youth and Sports.
The meeting was held to discuss the recent temporary suspension of community tournaments in Juba by the state government.
Speaking after the meeting, Hon. Bush Buse “assured the Warrap leadership that the suspension will be lifted soon, provided all tournaments meet the required safety and security measures for teams, fans, and the general public”.
The tournament leadership highlighted that “the Warrap State Peace Tournament remains one of the most peaceful community tournaments in Juba, with zero record of physical violence among fans”. President Deng Dut commended
The leadership also appreciated the Central Equatoria State Government, particularly Governor Hon. Anthony Emmanuel Adil, for continued support. Both the Opening Ceremony and Grand Final of this year’s tournament are sponsored by the CES Government.
President Deng Dut further assured the public that the tournament leadership always addresses any issues of concern before matches.
“As President, I’m assuring you that our Grand Final and Third Place will go on as planned, unless there is a delay from our own administrative arrangements prior to the final," Deng Dut Parek Dut said.
The dates and venue for the Grand Final will be communicated by the tournament secretariat.
