Few symbols of loyalty, discipline, and silent strength are as enduring as the working dog. These animals serve without expectation of reward or recognition, only with a deep, instinctive commitment to the mission and those they protect.
Their posture is alert. Their presence, commanding. They ask for nothing, yet give everything; a quiet, unwavering example of service without ego.
There is much we can learn from them. As sailors and leaders, we too are called to serve with the same focus, resolve, and humility. Let our conduct reflect that kind of integrity, steady, selfless, and without the need for applause.
Remember: it is not the rank that earns respect, but the way we carry it.
