Geographical Location:
Daraa is situated approximately 13 kilometers (8.1 miles) to the north of the Jordanian border, making it a key location in the southwestern region of Syria. It lies about 90 kilometers (56 miles) south of the capital city, Damascus. The city is strategically positioned on the Damascus–Amman highway, which serves as a crucial transportation route between Syria and Jordan.

Historical Significance:
Daraa has deep historical roots and is part of the ancient Hauran region, which has been inhabited for thousands of years. The name "Daraa" itself means "fortress," emphasizing its historical role as a defensive stronghold.
