Its core mandate is to strengthen the National Systems of Innovation in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

Ms. Lindwa Dlamini from the department of Research, Science, Technology and Innovation under the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology today delivered remarks at the BSA Training Centre Project Showcase held at Motjane BSA under the theme “Bridging the Gap – Empowering Graduates for the Modern Work Environment.”

The event, held under the tagline _“From Ideas to Impact”_, brought together students, lecturers, and invited stakeholders from various organizations. Students presented innovative projects which were assessed by industry stakeholders, showcasing the practical skills and creativity of BSA graduates.

In her address, Ms. Dlamini commended BSA Training Centre for creating a platform that connects classroom learning to real industry needs. She emphasized that technical and vocational skills are central to Eswatini’s digital and industrial transformation.

She further encouraged graduates to embrace technology in their trades, noting that _“technology must serve every skill.”_ She urged students to combine technical expertise with digital tools, discipline, and entrepreneurship to create sustainable enterprises and employment opportunities.

Ms. Dlamini reaffirmed the Ministry of ICT’s commitment to supporting youth skills development and ensuring that no young person is left behind in the 4th Industrial Revolution.

The Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology through the department of Research, Science, Technology and Innovation (RSTI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) today Visited Lomahasha Central High School which is the last of the 6 schools whose students successfully took part and finished the African Girls Can Code Initiative (AGCCI) course that was provided by this years International Girls in ICT day boot camp.

Speakers during yesterday engagement were Mr. Tsela who is the Senior Inspector of ICT under the Ministry of Education and also a proud Alumni of Lomahasha Central High School and Dr. R Maseko, the Director of RSTI. Mr Tsela on his remarks highlighted that “The success of your life will depend on the choices you make” and therefore encouraged the students to utilize the time given in a positive manner and believe in themselves. Dr. R Maseko empowered the students into choosing careers in the STEM field. She emphasized that as we are moving into a knowledge based economy, young people should be asking themselves the question “What they can do for the government instead of what the government can do for them”.

Yesterday, event marked the last day of the Joint Commemoration of Women and Girls in Science and the International Girls in ICT day 2026.

Participation in a Regional Science Fair opens doors to exciting opportunities. Qualifying learners will compete for the opportunity to advance to the Eskom Expo International Science Fair, where they may qualify for bursaries, prizes, special awards and opportunities to represent South Africa at international science competitions.
