The Turks and Caicos Islands Regiment’s 2026 Passing Out Parade and Closing Ceremony marked a significant moment in the Regiment’s continued development and growing contribution to the security and resilience of the Islands. Her Excellency the Governor, the Hon. Premier and the Hon. Leader of the Opposition joined proud family members, friends and supporters to celebrate the successful completion of the Annual Summer Training Camp and to formally welcome the Regiment’s newest Marines into service.

The occasion recognised both achievement and commitment, with awards presented for Most Outstanding Recruit, Best Endeavour, Most Physically Fit Recruit, the Premier’s Award and the Governor’s Awards.

In her remarks, the Governor congratulated the recruits and serving personnel, describing the Regiment as an increasingly capable and professional institution that plays a vital role in strengthening national security, maritime resilience and disaster preparedness. She commended the new Marines for answering the call to serve, noting that their commitment, discipline and sense of purpose reflect the values that underpin a strong and resilient society. She said their willingness to serve something greater than themselves would help safeguard the Islands, inspire others to follow in their footsteps and contribute to a brighter future for generations to come.

On Emancipation Day, Her Excellency the Governor joins the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands in honouring the courage, resilience and determination of those who advanced the cause of freedom and dignity. Thirty-three recruits are nearing the completion of an intensive two-week programme of training, discipline and service with the Turks and Caicos Islands Regiment.

Her Excellency the Governor visited the Regiment’s Recruitment and Annual Training Camp to meet the recruits, observe the training exercises and see first-hand the progress made throughout the programme. She also toured the camp with the Regiment’s executive team and thanked them for their commitment to developing the next generation of Regiment personnel.

Running from 19 July to 2 August 2026, the programme equips recruits with the core skills and values of military service, including drill, weapon handling, Basic Life Saving (BLS), first aid, military discipline and communications. By the end of the camp, recruits will have developed the confidence, resilience, teamwork and sense of responsibility needed to serve in Turks and Caicos Islands Regiment.
