Last week, the Department of Rehabilitation and Community Supervision proudly observed Probation and Parole Week 2026 under the theme “Connected for Change: Building Bridges in Supervision.” Through community outreach, public education, staff wellness, and professional development, we reaffirmed our commitment to rehabilitation and positive change.

We concluded the week with a Community Fellowship Church Service, where we were honoured to have Hon. Shaun David Malcolm in attendance. Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s observance.

Every day presents an opportunity to make a positive difference. Behind every home visit, every conversation, every assessment, and every case is a dedicated officer committed to promoting accountability, supporting rehabilitation, protecting the public, and helping individuals make lasting positive changes.

At the Department of Rehabilitation and Community Supervision, our work extends far beyond supervision. We work alongside individuals, families, schools, communities, and partner agencies to reduce reoffending, support at-risk youth, encourage personal responsibility, and create pathways toward brighter futures. Every interaction is guided by the belief that change is possible when people are given the right support, structure, and opportunities.

Join us as we take you behind the scenes for A Day in the Life of a DRCS Officer, showcasing the dedication, professionalism, and purpose that drive our mission of building safer, stronger communities throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Today, the Department of Rehabilitation and Community Supervision had the privilege of participating in the Turks and Caicos Islands Cadet Camp 2026, where our Juvenile Manager, Mr. Andy Missick, facilitated an engaging session on Public Speaking and Confidence. The interactive presentation encouraged cadets to step outside their comfort zones, build self-confidence, and develop the communication skills needed to become effective leaders. Through meaningful discussions and practical activities, participants learned that confidence is developed through preparation, practice, and perseverance.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Turks and Caicos Islands Cadet Corps for the invitation and for providing an opportunity to invest in the next generation of leaders. Initiatives like these play a vital role in equipping young people with the confidence, discipline, and life skills needed to make positive choices and serve their communities.

The Department of Rehabilitation and Community Supervision remains committed to supporting programmes that empower youth, strengthen communities, and promote positive outcomes across the Turks and Caicos Islands.

We recently hosted consultants from the Carey Group to assist in developing the Juvenile Rehabilitation facility operational model, policies, and procedures. The facility will provide a structured rehabilitation environment for at-risk youth requiring intensive supervision and support. This important initiative forms part of the Government’s National Crime Prevention Strategy and reflects our commitment to rehabilitation, accountability, and second chances.
