Today, the Department of Rehabilitation and Community Supervision had the privilege of participating in the International Day of the Boy Child observance at Wesley Methodist High School under the theme “Empowered Boys, Responsible Men: Thriving Emotionally, Socially, and Academically.” The event provided a valuable opportunity to engage with young men and encourage discussions on personal growth, responsibility, positive decision-making, and achieving success both inside and outside the classroom.

We were pleased to have our Juvenile Manager, Mr. Andy Missick, deliver a presentation to the students, highlighting the importance of self-discipline, emotional intelligence, resilience, goal-setting, and making choices that lead to positive outcomes. Students were encouraged to recognize their potential, embrace accountability, and remain focused on building a bright future.

The Department extends sincere thanks to the Department of Gender Affairs and Wesley Methodist High School for the invitation and for organizing this meaningful initiative. We remain committed to supporting opportunities that empower youth, strengthen communities, and help develop the next generation of responsible and productive citizens across the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Today, the Department of Rehabilitation and Community Supervision had the privilege of participating in the International Day of the Boy Child observance hosted by Alpha Christian Academy under the theme “Empowered Boys, Responsible Men: Thriving Emotionally, Socially, and Academically.”

The event provided a valuable opportunity to engage with young men, share information about the Department’s work, and encourage positive decision-making, personal responsibility, and healthy development.

We were pleased to have our Juvenile Manager, Mr. Andy Missick, in attendance, interacting with students and discussing the importance of making positive choices, setting goals, and becoming productive members of society.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Department of Gender Affairs and Alpha Christian Academy for the invitation and for organizing such a meaningful initiative. Last night, April 28th, 2026, the Department of Rehabilitation and Community Supervision was proud to have our Juvenile Manager, Mr. Andy Missick, deliver a presentation at the Rotary Club of Providenciales general meeting.

Under the theme “Prevention Over Punishment: Investing in Youth Before It Is Too Late,” Mr. Missick highlighted the importance of early intervention, proactive engagement, and creating structured opportunities for young people to thrive. During the session, he also introduced the JPIC Bright Horizon Framework, outlining it as a strategic and structured approach to juvenile prevention and intervention, focused on collaboration, mentorship, and measurable impact.

We extend sincere appreciation to the Rotary Club of Providenciales for the opportunity to share in this important dialogue and for their continued commitment to community development.

Today, the Department of Rehabilitation and Community Supervision engaged students at A. Louise Garland Thomas High School in a focused session on conflict resolution.

Represented by Juvenile Manager, Mr. Andy Missick, the session facilitated meaningful discussion on understanding conflict, managing emotions, and applying practical strategies to resolve disputes in a positive and constructive way. Students were encouraged to share openly and reflect on better decision-making both in and out of the classroom.

We extend sincere appreciation to the school’s administration and staff for their collaboration. The Department remains committed to early intervention, youth development, and building safer communities across the Turks and Caicos Islands.
