"Winning the Caribbean Sustainable Tourism Award for Regenerative Tourism is an extraordinary honor for both the TCI National Trust and the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands. It affirms that protecting our natural and cultural heritage is not only the right thing to do — it is the foundation of a stronger, more resilient future for our islands. This recognition celebrates a vision of tourism that gives back more than it takes, empowering communities, preserving biodiversity, and ensuring that future generations inherit a Turks and Caicos that is even richer in beauty, culture, and identity than it is today."

Executive Director, Dr. Jasmine Thomas on accepting the CTO'S 2026 Caribbean Regenerative Tourism Award, a proud recognition of TCI National Trust's dedication to restoring and preserving our islands' natural and cultural heritage.

Iguana Island is one of the few places in the world where you can see the Turks and Caicos rock iguana in its natural habitat.

This species exists almost entirely on small islands like Little Water Cay, where it lives among coastal vegetation and limestone terrain. Thousands of iguanas still roam freely here, making it one of the most important strongholds for the species.

A short boat ride takes you to a place that feels untouched, where wildlife moves at its own pace and the landscape stays protected.

Meet the Reddish Egret, one of TCI's most extraordinary coastal wildlife species. This remarkable bird uses its wings as a canopy to herd fish beneath the surface, a rare foraging technique that makes every encounter truly unforgettable. Protecting habitats like ours ensures future generations can witness nature's most incredible performances.

We dedicate this moment to Simon Busuttil, scientist, conservationist, mentor, and true friend to the Turks and Caicos Islands.

“Interesting Historical Tour!”

Step into the ruins of Cheshire Hall Plantation and you’re not just seeing history, you’re standing in it.

Built in the 1700s, this site was once part of a vast plantation system, where thousands of enslaved people lived and worked. Today, the stone walls, pathways, and remains tell a story that is difficult, but important to remember.

Cheshire Hall Plantation is one of the most significant historical sites in Turks and Caicos.

Built in the late 1700s by Loyalists fleeing the American Revolution, it was once part of a cotton plantation system that stretched across Providenciales. At its peak, the estate relied on the labor of enslaved Africans, whose lives and work shaped the foundations of the islands’ early economy.

The Turks and Caicos National Trust protects the site and keeps this part of the islands’ story accessible.
