The Department of Civil Engineering (CE) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok is widely regarded by the Thai construction industry as an academic institution to produce highly-skilled graduates. Currently, the department comprises 18 full-time faculty members, 9 staff members, and approximately 30 graduate students and 440 undergraduate students. Our department has
a long history dating back to when KMUTNB granted higher education in civil engineering in 1983. In the beginning, the department was named the Department of Structural Technology and offered a Bachelor of Industrial Technology degree. Since then, we have continuously expanded and established ourselves as one of the best civil engineering schools, with highly-qualified faculty members,
well-equipped laboratories and computing facilities, and considerable research activities. In 1994, we started the Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng.) program in civil engineering and changed the name of our department to the Department of Civil Engineering. In 2001, we initiated master’s programs (M. Eng.). Later in 2009, we started offering Ph.D. programs in Civil Engineering.
