Applicants urgently needed!!

Host: The Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School
of Engineering (TGGS) in Bangkok, Thailand.
Duration: 12 months

Eligibility (Please check carefully, PhD must be completed. The granter sets the requirements. I cannot influence those)
1) Is a non-Thai researcher who received a doctorate degree in
not longer than 5 years back from the date of application.
2) Not over 45 years old from the application deadline.
3) Have at least TWO research articles in the Science Citation Index or Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) AS THE FIRST AUTHOR.
4) Be able to conduct research work full-time throughout the period at TGGS in Bangkok, Thailand

The project was developed by Dr. Harish Adhithya. He will collaborate with the candidate, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adam Narbudowicz and Assoc. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Suramate Chalermwisutkul

Our HFS team visited Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University yesterday. Together with Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, HFS is collaborating with the colleagues in veterinary medicine in a project where biological cells will be monitored by mean of impedance measurement. We are honored and excited to work together with the CU team. Our PhD student will work closely in a miniteam with a CU master student.

Another work of Kirote Arpanutud, a PhD candidate of HFS lab in collaboration with Silicon Craft Technology Co.Ltd PLC as well as HFE, RWTH Aachen University has been published online. In this work, we discuss a simple yet improved adaptive linear-piecewise model for preliminary efficiency estimation of class-C rectifiers using DC measurement e.g. from the datasheet of the diode. The work contributes to device selection decision as well as understanding class-C rectifier waveform design. We are grateful to RRi Scholarship from NRCT, NSR Fund and KMUTNB for the financial support. Also, we would like to thank all collaborators of this project.

Our thought is with the people of Germany during this difficult time.

It is sad to know about the losses due to the recent flooding. We have been collaborating with German research and academic institution for more than 10 years. Our German colleagues have shared knowledge, ideas with us and helped us to progress in our education and research. We also work together in many projects with a friendly work atmosphere and full trust in each other.

We hope that the pandemic and all sad things will be over soon, so that we can visit our friends and colleagues in Germany again. Thank you Germany. We are more than confident that you can get over any challenges. See you again, soon.

In this year, another master student from our HFS lab is invited for a research stay at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. The collaboration with RWTH institutes in the areas of antenna and propagation, high frequency electronics including Institute of High Frequency Technology IHF and Chair of High Frequency Electronics HFE is a long tradition of our lab. Our exchange students are well prepared both with technical skills as well as with the German work culture. We will cultivate this great collaboration with trust and determination for a high academic standard in long term. This exchange is made possible by the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD. We are very grateful for the support.

Please feel free to download this open access article about a smart antenna concept which can be reconfigured for beam direction as well as radiation pattern. This concept has great potentials for autonomous vehicles, robots, localization and direction finding.
