The Online Exhibition of ‘Art & Nature Therapy’

In 2021, CPCR has implemented the art therapy program, Art & Nature Therapy, for 40 children who are victims of violence and unlawful care. This resilience program is supported by terre des hommes in Southeast Asia and Volkswagen. The art therapy would support our children so that that can feel safe and secure. In the meantime, they can build their own self-esteem. By participating the art program in nature settings, children would be more calm and relaxed. Then, they can release their anxiety and express themselves. Eventually, their wounded hearts are healed and they can find true happiness in life. At the end of the program, there is one special activity for children. It is the online art exhibition. Since children have participated many art sessions, it is the right moment for children to present their art pieces to the world.

CPCR would like to invite you to join the online exhibition by clicking the link below. Also, it would be very much appreciated if you can send kind messages to show your moral supports to these children.

Thank you very much for all your great supports.

November 20th, CPCR hosts the webinar of ‘the Grand Opening of ‘Safety Ranger Game’, the New Learning Tool for Children.’ There are 500 participants who are teachers from Child Protection Schools, state officers from Office of the Basic Education Commission, practitioners from provincial shelters for children and families, staff from NGOs, university students and volunteers. The board game has been developed together with Learning from Board Games Thailand and supported by PARTAGE. CPCR would like ‘Safety Ranger Game’ to be the new learning tool for children ages 9 - 12 to develop their safety skills. The game would ask children, who are ‘Safety Rangers’, to enter unsafe situations and have a chance to meet monsters - tricky people in their real-life. Therefore, to win the monsters, children need to work with their friends by using all resources (game cards) in their hands. CPCR plans to disseminate ‘Safety Ranger Game’ to schools and shelters in the nearest future. At last, CPCR has hopes that this new board game would be useful and enjoyable for all children. They can practice their safety skills and know how to protect themselves in real situation.

A Journey of 'Pa Plearn' Bags

This week, again, our 'Pa Plearn Bags' meet children who are COVID-19 patients at Tha Luang Hospiral in Lopburi Province. These child activity bags would help children to learn and play while they stay at home during lock down or are transferred to a hospital.

CPCR would like to thank you many organizations who make this journey come true, PARTAGE, our International partner, and many private sectors from Thailand such as a volunteer group - หน้ากากช่วยเพื่อน, who are a middle person who give a bag to children in remote areas.

Thank you very much for building ‘a Caring Society’ for children with CPCR.

“…I was a child, and all I need was love..."

This is a part of song lyric – ‘A Child and a Monster’ by a Thai singer, Chisun or Charlie Chirapat. chisun wrote this song to reflect on problems of child violence in our society and he would like his song to raise awareness of child abuse and be a fundraising campaign which supports CPCR child protection operation.

Let’s build ‘a Caring Society’ for children with Chisun and CPCR.

chisun ส่งซิงเกิลล่าสุด 'a child and a monster' ถึงการทารุณเด็กเพื่อเป็นกระบอกเสียงและระดมทุนเพื่อสนับสนุน Thaichildrights CPCR ให้แก่เหล่าเยาวชนที่ตกเป็นเหยื่อของความรุนแรง
.

Crying in the cab, Last Song, Endless Summer, Pluto (a song from hades) และ Midnight City แน่นอนว่ากลับมาคราวนี้ก็ยังหยิบยกเรื่องราวจากประสบการณ์ของตัวเองและคนรอบ ๆ ข้างมาเพื่อต้องการสร้างความเปลี่ยนแปลงกับปัญหาที่หลาย ๆ คนอาจมองข้ามไป กับ 'a child and a monster'
.

May We Borrow Your Oxygen Bottle?

Currently, there are many severe cases of COVID-19 all over the country. Medical oxygen is one medical supply that is important for the red patient. ‘Magic Book Project’, together with Zendai Organization, Club Volunteer SRC and CPCR, has launched a project – ‘Lending COVID-19 Patient an Oxygen Cylinder ’. It is project that asks for a donation of the oxygen bottle or borrows the empty cylinder to COVID-19 patient. The bottle will be refilled and transferred to the patient who really needs it.

We have a volunteer who can pick up the bottle at your place or you can visit us, ‘Magic Book Project’, at this address :

Feeling ‘YES’, Feeling ‘NO’
‘My Body is Mine, NOT Yours! You must STOP when I said NO!’

This is the important message that parents can teach for their own children. Children would learn that their body belongs to them and they need to look after it by themselves. It is a personal space and it is a fundamental human right that no one can touch it.

It is undeniable that, nowadays, cases of child victims of violence and unlawful care have increased and been more severe. Child abuse can happen whether in school, community or even their own house.

CPCR would like to build ‘a Caring Society’ for children and promote ‘Stop Violence against Children. CPCR has introduced a sex education program, Feeling ‘YES’, Feeling ‘NO’, which has been developed from the original version from Canada. The program educates children to avoid being sexually assaulted by people they trust and strangers. Children would learn:
• ‘Good Touch’ and ‘Bad Touch’
Children would learn how to differentiate good touch from bad touch when there is someone touching any part of their body
• Refusal Skills
Children would practice how to refuse when they face an unreliable situation.
• Analytical Skills
Children assess the situation which is unsafe for them.
• How to Ask for help
When children are in the risk situation or see their friends in danger, they know how to ask assistance from the others.

CPCR would like all duty bears – parents of children, relatives and teachers - and children organizations to visit the website, download learning materials and teach your own children.

My ‘Pa Plearn Bag’, My Happiness in My Family

“Teacher! Teacher! Now I have something to do!”

While following up in Sampham Community, we heard small voices greeting us from behind the tree. We stopped and looked for where the sound was. We, then, found a little girl who always visited us at ‘Baan Paplearn’. She smiled and showed us a big blue bag. She shared that after receiving ‘Pa Plearn Bag’ from CPCR, she had a lot of things to do. She just finished reading a children book which had taught her about the importance of vegetable. She said she wanted to eat all vegetable in the world and grew her own vegetable. Inside the child activity bad, there is a gardening kit with lots of vegetable seeds.

Then, the mother of the girl walked to us and pointed out their organic garden. Although it was a compact area, there were many vegetable such as Chinese cabbage and basil. This family also used recycled items for their homegrown vegetables. While the mother shared how enthusiasm of her daughter was, the girl worked very hard to water her green garden. The girl also shares us that she had asked her mother to buy duck eggs because she wanted to make salted eggs. She already had salt and white clay. Her story was surprised us. We admired her intentions and asked her how to make the salted eggs. She said she knew from the book inside the bag. She also asked us to visit her again when her salted eggs are ready.

Before we said good bye to this family, the mother pointed out that ‘Pa Plearn Bag’ was very useful. During lockdown from COVID-19 pandemic, her kid did not have anything to do and parents needed to go to work. The bag helped her kid to keep in sight. Her daughter did not have to play in a risk area where she might accidentally contact with unknown person who had Covid virus. Moreover, the most important thing was ‘Pa Plearn Bag’ gave her daughter many ideas. Now they had a small garden inside their house. Her daughter could have fresh organic vegetables. She also shared her a lot of projects from her head.

Thank you to ‘Pa Plearn Bag’!
