Doi Inthanon ดอยอินทนนท์ is the highest mountain in Thailand. Located @ Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai Province.
This park is part of the Himalayan mountain, covers an area of 482 km² in Chiang Mai province north of Thailand.
It is populars for its waterfalls, trails, remote villages, charming mountainous farms, sunrise/sunset watching, birdwatching and the all year round cold weather & high humidity on higher elevations
Open Daily 5:30 am to 6:30 pm.
On the main road to the summit of Doi Inthanon stand two adjacent chedis, one called Naphamethinidon (นภเมทินีดล), meaning 'by the strength of the land and air', and the other, Naphaphonphumisiri(นภพลภูมิสิริ), meaning 'being the strength of the air and the grace of the land'. These temples were built to honour the 60th birthday anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 1987, and the 60th birthday anniversary of Queen Sirikit in 1992, respectively.
ENTRANCE FEE
Foreigner is 300Baht, children 150Baht and Locals 50Baht, children 20Baht. Cars will be charged with 50Baht and bikes with 20Baht.
Due to distances between attractions to another are far, visitors will need a car or bike. It is very time consuming & challenging to try walking between the attractions along the main road.
The park is generally crowded during the week-ends & public holidays, lesser people during the week-days.
GETTING THERE
Chiang Mai City to Doi Inthanon is around 95km and take about 1 hours 40 mins.
Getting There from Chiang Mai City;
By songthaew (yellow pick up taxi) from Pratu Gate in the south of the Old City around 140 baht (around 4.5 usd) each way.
By Hiring a private driver for the day 2500-3000 Baht (avg. around 90 USD).
You can also consider to Book a day tour Which cost around 1900 Baht (60 USD).
Hiring a car or motorbike to self drive or ride is not advisable and ideally not for beginners due to the windy and long travel to the top.
