🌟 A New Chapter Unfolds in Point Fortin! 🌟

Dear wonderful residents of Point Fortin,

Today is a day filled with an overwhelming sense of joy and deep-seated peace as I had the privilege to hand over the comprehensive status report on all ongoing programs and initiatives of our 11th Council to the incoming Mayor, Mr. Clyde James. This moment is truly remarkable, breaking away from an existing and unsettling trend of the past, and marking an unprecedented transition in the history of our beloved Borough.

As I stood there, witnessing the transfer of responsibility to Mayor-Elect Mr Clyde James, I couldn't help but reflect on the journey the 11th Council has taken together. The countless hours, the unwavering commitment, and the shared dreams have all culminated in this transformative moment. This isn't just a handover of documents; it's a symbolic passing of the torch to a leader who embodies promise and progress.

The presence of the incoming Deputy Mayor, Councillor-elect Kwesi Thomas, further accentuates the spirit of unity and collaboration that we hold dear in Point Fortin. Together, we are embracing change, welcoming new perspectives, and celebrating the rich diversity that makes our community thrive.

I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to facilitate this smooth transition. The ability to work alongside such dedicated individuals, both in the outgoing and incoming teams, has been an honour beyond words. Our shared commitment to the betterment of Point Fortin has transcended political boundaries, and I am filled with pride as I see this legacy continue in the capable hands of Mayor Clyde James and Deputy Mayor Kwesi Thomas.

To the wonderful people of Point Fortin who have stood by our side, supported our endeavours, and believed in the power of positive change, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. Your unwavering faith in our vision has been the driving force behind every accomplishment, every milestone reached.

As I step back from my role as Mayor, I do so with a heart full of hope for the future. Our Borough is on the brink of greatness, and I have no doubt that the fresh leadership will nurture the seeds of progress we've sown.

LET'S CELEBRATE WORLD STEELPAN DAY🇹🇹

At the United Nations General Assembly 93rd Plenary Meeting on 24th July 2023, the UN declared today *August 11th* World Steelpan Day.
This declaration underscores the importance of this 20th century invention and the instrument's historical siginigicance, originating in Trinidad and Tobago, including its correlation to cultural, social, and 📈economic development.

Living steelpan icons and "Pointfortinarian" personalities such as Earl Rodney, Jason Baptist, Samuel Archibald, Cuthbert Matthews, are but some of the names that are known to have contributed to our nation's steel pan legacy, both locally and internationally.

🎶Town Hall Harmony🎼 First Stop🚦
Tommorrow, employees and visitors to the Point Fortin Borough Corporation will be greeted with the live melodic sounds of the steelpan as they enter the Town Hall's lobby. Pannist and receipient of the Borough's Community Civic Award for Arts and Culture in 2022, Joseph Lett will be the one to render sweet pan music for everyone's enjoyment.

🎼Pan by the Pan Yard🎵The Next Stop 🚦
The main World Steel Pan event will be at the home of the Tornadoes Steel Orchestra's Pan Yard. The public is invited to come and listen to "sweet pan" from 5.00pm
