On Friday, 3rd July, 2026, the Joint Select Committee on Finance and Legal Affairs held its 2nd public hearing with the National Insurance Board (NIB). Discussions focused on the NIB's digital transformation project 'EMPOWER'

Your three (3) Financial Oversight Committees held eighteen (18) meetings, while your nine (9) Departmental Oversight Committees held forty-nine (49) meetings. In anticipation of the 4th public hearing (YES!!! FOURTH!!!) on youth unemployment and underemployment happening tomorrow @ 10:15 a.m.... we thought you'd want to hear more from the youths who appeared at the 3rd public hearing.

Youth voices should always be at the forefront of discussions focusing on youth, and the JSC SSPA is ensuring that that is the case.
