Happening now:
Continuing to foster community partnerships with the TTPS to strengthen their commitment to our safety and security.

Important and fruitful discussions are ongoing, and I am happy to be able to listen to all stakeholders representing their views.

I am looking forward to continuing to work closely with the TTPS Southern Division for the benefit of all burgesses of Les Efforts West/ La Romain.

Just last year, parts of my district were hit by unimaginable flooding after one afternoon of heavy rain. My office, with the help of good samaritans and stakeholders, brought aid to persons affected at the time of the crisis but also continued advocating for short term relief and long-term solutions for the burgesses of LEW/LR.

This week one of these attempts got some attention when I was asked to accompany Mr Carlan James from the Ministry of Works and infrastructure on a site visit to one of the areas that was seriously affected by flooding last year. The Ministry informed me that they have approved and will begin a project of constructing a retaining wall in Padmore Street, which will commence in a few weeks. I will continue to advocate for my burgesses to bring relief to other flood prone areas within the Electoral District.

This week, I also accompanied SFCC Work Supervisor Mr Steven Downing, on a site visit of a major water course between Gulf View Drive and Fahey Avenue. Stage one of treating with the blockages is the clearing of overgrown bushes and trees in the drains, and this is now on the draft estimates for 2024/2025.

We are slowly but surely gathering the assistance and resources required to undertake these projects that may not be elaborate but are definitely necessary for the people affected.
LEW/LR, I continue to work my hardest in your best interest!

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

Thank you to Mr Shiva Singh and Rondell Jace who always goes above and beyond for the people of Les Efforts West/La Romaine.

Today they brought much needed relief to the residents of Coconut Drive and Gulf View by patching several outstanding potholes on Cedar Avenue, Gulf View Drive, Daniel Avenue and Hillview Gardens.

Although resources are scarce, we continue to try our best to ease the everyday burdens of the great people of Les Efforts West/La Romain.

Have a great weekend!

I previously posted about this location on 4th December, 2023. At that time, only the stairs on the play park had been repaired. But I noted it was the begining of further progress for this facility.

Just one month later, despite some delays over the holiday period, the work on this play park is very near to completion.

Three additional benches were installed, railings added and long needed repair to the actual play park structure was done.

General clearing was done to the area which will be completed in collaboration with CEPEP over the next few days.

There is now a fixed rotation for cutting and clearing of the grounds.

It's a new year and your councillor continues to work for you!

I am pleased to inform the residents of the Sunset Ridge/Cove Community, that more than just refurbishment works were completed in this facility today.

I oversaw the installation of new play park equipment which will benefit both parents and children in the area, who can now safely enjoy the facility with very minimal concern.

The main entrance gate was also repaired today, discontinuing the hazard that would have existed for some time.
