History after the Coronation👑

The coronation may have marked the beginning of Queen Elizabeth II's reign, but it was only the start of a remarkable chapter in history.

Following her crowning on June 2, 1953, Queen Elizabeth embarked on a journey that would see her become the longest-reigning monarch in British history. From royal tours across the Commonwealth to overseeing decades of social, political, and technological change, her reign left a lasting impact on the world.

MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY

We often admire the finished product, the successful business, the accomplished athlete, the thriving garden, or the towering tree. What we don't always see are the years of effort, learning, mistakes, persistence, and growth that happened along the way.

Growth rarely happens overnight. It happens in small moments: reading one more page, learning one new thing, taking one small step toward a goal, or trying again after a setback.

Like the mighty tree, growth begins long before anyone notices. A seed must first take root beneath the soil. It must weather storms, endure dry seasons, and continue reaching toward the light. Over time, those unseen efforts become strength, resilience, and growth.

The same is true for us.

While growth takes time, it also requires action. The perfect moment may never come, and the perfect plan may never exist. Sometimes, the most important step is simply to begin.

As you start this new week, challenge yourself to take one small step toward something you've been putting off. It may not seem like much today, but small, consistent actions have a way of growing into something extraordinary.

🌱 Keep learning.
🌿 Keep trying.
🌳 Keep growing.

Because growth takes time, but don't take your time.

GLOBAL DAY OF PARENTS

Although Global Day of Parents was observed on Monday, June 1, we thought it was only fitting to end the week by reflecting on the people who help guide us through life's journey.

This year's theme, "Together for Parents," reminds us that parenting is a journey filled with love, sacrifice, encouragement, patience, and endless learning.

From first steps to first days of school, from homework struggles to graduation celebrations, parents and caregivers are often there every step of the way; cheering us on, helping us grow, and believing in us even when we doubt ourselves.

As part of our observance, we invited students to share something they appreciate about their parents and caregivers. Their responses remind us that sometimes the smallest acts of love leave the greatest impact.

💜 "My mom is my biggest cheerleader. She celebrates my successes and helps me through my challenges."

💜 "My dad teaches me to be responsible and never give up on my goals."

💜 "My grandmother may not always have the answers, but she always has a hug when I need one."

To all parents, guardians, grandparents, and caregivers: thank you for the love, guidance, support, and sacrifices you make every day.

Every parent's journey matters.

✊🏾Timeline Thursdays: The Revolution That Changed Trinidad & Tobago

This week, we’re looking back at the Black Power Revolution a powerful movement that shook the nation in 1970 and sparked conversations about equality, workers’ rights, education, and Black identity.

Driven mainly by students, trade unions, and young activists, thousands marched through the streets demanding change and challenging the social and economic systems left behind after colonial rule. The movement became one of the most significant moments in Trinidad & Tobago’s modern history.
Although the major protests happened over 50 years ago, their impact can still be seen today in conversations about culture, pride, opportunity, and social justice.

Every year, the shores of Manzanilla become part of an incredible natural journey as leatherback turtles return to Trinidad’s coastline to nest. 🐢🌊

These gentle giants the largest sea turtles in the world have been visiting Trinidad’s beaches for generations, making the island one of the most important nesting sites in the Caribbean. During nesting season, female leatherbacks come ashore at night to lay their eggs before returning to the sea, continuing a cycle that has existed for millions of years.
Manzanilla’s long stretch of coastline plays an important role in protecting these endangered turtles and preserving a vital part of Trinidad and Tobago’s natural heritage.
