FORGING TOGETHER IN HARMONY

The PNM National Youth League joins the national celebration as the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago commemorates six decades of independence and national identity.

We take great pride in nationwide development over the years in the fields of education, culture, religion, trade, agriculture and all areas of national development.

Six years after the official founding of the PNM, Trinidad and Tobago received its independence in 1962. This remarkable milestone signalled the birth of a new nation on a progressive path to economic prosperity and security.

Similarly, PNM’s forward-thinking policies remains the driving force behind national stability as well as the shaping of key national institutions that are designed to serve the needs of all the people.

To quote the Right Honourable Dr. Eric Eustace Williams “The strength of the nation depends on the strength of its people.” The League recognises our past and present leaders who have made and continues to make their invaluable contributions towards national development. It is their fearless and unwavering commitment to God and Country which has brought prosperity to the land therefore, improving the standards of living for the average person.

On behalf of the PNM National Youth League Executive, we take this opportunity to extend a hearty 60th Independence Day to the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.

PNM YOUTH LEAGUE CONDEMNS ANIL ROBERTS’ LATEST RANT

The League believes that real men would not attack illustrious women, such as Mrs. Clarke- Rowley, a hard-working attorney, beloved wife, mother and patron of the Caribbean Association of Oncology and Hematology, supporter of the Down Syndrome Family Network, the Women in Action for the Needy and Destitute (WAND) Foundation, the Epoch Foundation, among other NGOs.

The National Youth League therefore admonishes Anil and demands that he puts down the gossipmongering and tedious prating, and turn away from the vile, hatred and belligerent behavior that has defined his mischief as a public nuisance.

Today the PNM National Youth League joins the national community in celebrating a phenomenal leader.

The National Youth League extends warm birthday greetings to our very distinguished Political Leader of the People’s National Movement and Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago the Honourable Dr. Keith Christopher Rowley.

Destined leaders and men of greatness are not merely created through the inherited circumstances of their lives, but are born and destined to impact the lives of those around them.

The youth population can only look to the Hon. Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley as a shining example of strong leadership, integrity and decency in public life. Not once under Dr. Rowley’s leadership has opportunities for young people been reduced but rather, we have seen a much larger investment in the youth which certainly contributes towards securing our future while ensuring that Trinidad and Tobago remains a land of opportunities where young persons can achieve remarkable success.

Happy birthday to our Political Leader and Prime Minister on behalf of T&T’s youth.

CALL FOR NATIONAL COOPERATION

Port of Spain: The National Youth League of the People’s National Movement gives its fullest support to the position of the Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Keith Rowley and by extension, to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, on the newly implemented measures to battle the prevalence of the COVID-19 virus. These decisions, difficult as they are, have been and continue to be guided by the evidence produced by our nation’s epidemiological and public health professionals.

In light of the recorded rise in COVID-19 positive cases, the League welcomes the new measures placed in an effort to help thwart an almost overwhelmed parallel healthcare system. The decisive actions relate to a state of emergency and curfew implemented to help curb viral spread.

We join with the national community to offer our deepest condolences and prayers to the families who would have suffered loss from this invisible enemy. Every life lost is our brother, our sister, our parent, our neighbour, or friend, our children, and we must do all that we can personally can to minimize spread and infection.

Similarly, the League also wishes to salute our frontline workers for their patriotism, their demonstrated heroism and their bravery. We commend the majority of citizens who have been trying their best to adhere to the established protocols as per the Public Health Ordinances.

We appeal to the general public to practice the proven methods shared to negate the spread of the virus, and in so doing, are considerate to the countless others who are susceptible to contracting the virus and/ or poor clinical outcomes.

The astute leadership of our Honourable Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley, has once again been key in navigating tumultuous waters- economic, social and public health challenges ushered in by the global pandemic. We are confident that his sound leadership and experience will guide us through this time in order to protect the lives of our citizenry.

This is a time for compassion camaraderie, and tremendous discipline. It is accepting our own personal responsibility that will ultimately take us together to the place we must and need to get to. We are all in this together. Let’s do this, T&T!
