📸🇹🇻 Digital Nation Team Takes Part in Special Photogrammetry Training! 💻🌏

Over the past week, Digital Nation Digital Content Manager Sam Pedro and Digital Media and Communications Officer Venu Pedro have been participating in special photogrammetry training with Lassi Kaukonen, a Finnish photogrammetry expert who has worked with the National Museum of Finland. 🇫🇮🏛️

So, what is photogrammetry? 👀

📸 Photogrammetry is the science of using overlapping photographs to make reliable measurements and create detailed 3D models.

This technology is especially useful for creating the high-quality 3D scans that are housed in the Digital Ark, helping digitally preserve Tuvaluan objects, cultural heritage, and knowledge for future generations. 🌺💻🇹🇻

The Digital Nation Team is excited to work with an expert like Lassi to strengthen and enhance our technical skills and continue improving the Digital Ark experience for the people of Tuvalu.

🇹🇻🔥 MSS vs. FSS: The Digital Nation Debate! 🎤🌺

Congratulations to our winners! 🏆👏

Last week, the Digital Nation Team hosted an exciting debate between students from Motufoua Secondary School (MSS) and Fetuvalu Secondary School (FSS) as part of the Fakaapo Tuvalu Arts Festival! 🌺🇹🇻

The students tackled two big questions about Tuvalu’s future:

🌊 Can culture be preserved without physical land?
💻 Should citizens be allowed to directly vote online through digital platforms?

And the results are in… IT’S A TIE! 🎉🔥

🏆 MSS won Topic 1: Can culture be preserved without physical land?
🏆 FSS won Topic 2: Should citizens be allowed to directly vote online through digital platforms?

Both teams delivered thoughtful arguments and demonstrated the confidence, creativity, and critical thinking of Tuvalu’s young people. 💙👏

The Digital Nation Team is incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the debate and training sessions leading up to the event.
