📅 What’s next?

Over the coming months, we'll begin our second round of consultations across Tuvalu before our Digital Content Manager embarks on extended stays in the Outer Islands to support digital scanning and documentary work focused on Tuvalu values and how they continue to shape contemporary society. 🌺🎥

At the same time, the team will:
🌐 Enhance the Digital Ark
📊 Strengthen financial management systems
🤝 Expand outreach with community and church youth groups
✨ Support initiatives such as the Sei Tuvalu Pageant and other projects across government and the Ministry of Transport, Energy, Communication and Innovation

We are delighted to welcome Tetavaa Namoto to the Digital Nation Team as our new Finance Officer! 👏🎉

With extensive experience in public sector administration and executive support, Tetavaa brings valuable expertise that will help strengthen the financial management of the Digital Nation Project. 🚀💼

In her new role, Tetavaa will:
🔹 Manage project payments and procurement
🔹 Monitor monthly project accounts
🔹 Track monthly cash flow and financial movements
🔹 Support financial auditing and reporting

Because we already completed Island community consultations in Nui during our last trip, today, our Youth Ambassador Suilelei Fuitau covered the Digital Nation program in Nui with an outreach program at Vaipuna Primary School🏝️💻

The Digital Nation Team Returns to the Central Islands 🌊✨

This week, the Digital Nation Team is returning to the Central Islands of Tuvalu — Nukufetau and Nui and then Vaitupu — to complete meetings with Kaupule, communities, and schools postponed last month due 🤝📚

Alongside Project Manager Petaia Meauma Moeaga, the team — Digital Content Manager Sam Pedro and Youth Ambassador Suilelei Fuitau — is excited to be back in the Outer Islands to share the Digital Nation Project.

📍 Today, the team is headed to Nui, where they are sharing the project with the Vaipuna Primary School.

🌐 Digital Nation Outreach with the Mizpah Youth Association 🇹🇻

Our Digital Nation Youth Outreach Team — Youth Ambassador Suilelei Fuitau and Intern Eseta Lauti Jnr — are back in action! 🙌

This week, Suilelei and Eseta were able to engage with youth from the Mizpah Youth Association and share ideas about the Digital Nation Project and other cultural preservation and climate initiatives📚

Sui and Eseta discussed:
🔹 What the Digital Nation is and why it matters for Tuvalu
🔹 How Tuvaluan culture, history, and knowledge can be preserved digitally
🔹 The role of young people in protecting Tuvalu’s identity in the digital world
🔹 Hands-on learning through a 3D Digital Scanning Workshop

We’re excited to continue outreach in the coming weeks with:
✨ Youth & Church groups across Funafuti
✨ University of the South Pacific – Tuvalu Campus students

Today, Digital Nation Project Manager Petaia Meauma Moeaga and Technical Advisor Dr. Jess Marinaccio met with Una Kelly, a journalist from Ireland’s national broadcaster, RTÉ, to discuss the Digital Ark.
