The U.N. nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Grossi flew to Iran on Monday to improve his agency’s oversight of the Islamic Republic's rapidly advancing nuclear program.

Grossi warned that Iran has amassed enough highly enriched uranium for “several” nuclear bombs if it chooses to build them.

Iranian officials have threatened they could pursue atomic weapons.

"For us, making the atomic bomb is easier than not building [an] atomic bomb," said Mahmoud Reza Aghamiri, chancellor of Shahid Beheshti University and a specialist in nuclear physics.

The Yemen-based Houthi militant group fired three ballistic missiles at a Malta-flagged, Greece-owned container ship in the Red Sea, the U.S. military and maritime security agencies said Monday.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) identified the ship as the MV Cyclades, saying there were no injuries on board.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency said an explosion hit close to the ship, causing some damage, but that the ship was safe and heading to its next port of call.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Sunday decried Iran’s drone strikes on Israel, saying the “obvious collaboration” between Russia and Iran in “spreading terror” must be met with “a resolute and united response from the world.”

"Iran's actions threaten the entire region and the world, just as Russia's actions threaten a larger conflict," Zelenskyy wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Zelenskyy linked Israel’s situation to Ukraine by saying that like Israel, Ukraine has been attacked by Iranian-made Shahed drones and missiles.

"We in Ukraine know very well the horror of similar attacks by Russia, which uses the same 'Shahed' drones and Russian missiles, the same tactics of mass air strikes," he wrote.

👉 Jordan's King Abdullah and Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al- Sissi said after a summit in Cairo on Wednesday that they rejected any Israeli move to expel Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, state media reported.

In a statement, both leaders also said the international community should pressure Israel to agree to an immediate ceasefire and allow enough aid into war-torn Gaza to ease the "tragic plight" of over 2 million people under siege there. (REUTERS)
