iAGRI is a Feed the Future (FtF) project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) aimed to prepare the next generation of agricultural and nutrition leaders and strengthen and integrate the core institutions of agricultural research, education, and extension in Tanzania. ding Michigan State, Virginia Tech, Tuskegee University, University of Florida, and Iowa State University. Key partners in Tanzania include the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives (MAFC). The project aims to prepare teachers, researchers and extension practitioners in Tanzania to cooperatively and effectively address needs of smallholder farmers and the growing agribusiness sector and to improve food security for decades to come.

We are saddened by the loss of our former colleague, mentor and friend, Prof. Flavianus Magayane. Magayane served as Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for iAGRI. Although the iAGRI project has come to an end, the iAGRI family (and extended family of students, university lecturers and administrators) mourns his loss.

In recognition of his passing, please feel free to share any comments, photos or memories you may have of Magayane in honour of his memory.
