SOA Zanzibar is excited to announce the upcoming SOA Zanzibar Ocean Boot Camp, taking place on 17–18 October 2026 in Zanzibar. The Boot Camp will focus on building youth knowledge, skills, and leadership in mangrove conservation and restoration.

Today, SOA Zanzibar proudly joins the global community in celebrating World Mangrove Day and reaffirming our commitment to protecting and restoring Zanzibar's precious mangrove ecosystems

Mangroves are vital for biodiversity, coastal protection, climate resilience, and sustainable livelihoods. Through our restoration efforts in Chake Chake, Pemba, we continue working with local communities and young people to restore degraded mangrove forests and build a healthier ocean for future generations

Together, we can make a difference in contributing to C*D Target 3 (30×30).

We are excited to launch SOA Zanzibar Ocean Boot Camp 2026, an initiative empowering young people with practical skills in mangrove restoration, the blue economy, climate leadership, and sustainable entrepreneurship.

Our goal is to restore 20,000 mangroves across 5 hectares, strengthen coastal ecosystems, create green jobs, and build resilient communities.

SOA Zanzibar Ocean Boot is Coming Soon! 🌱

SOA Zanzibar is preparing to launch the SOA Zanzibar Ocean Boot across the islands of Zanzibar, a platform designed to empower young people through knowledge sharing and capacity building on best practices for mangrove conservation, Blue Economy opportunities, alternative projects, value addition, and market access strategies.

As part of this initiative, SOA Zanzibar is also planning a large-scale Mangrove Restoration Campaign with the goal of restoring and planting approximately 20,000 mangrove seedlings in collaboration with 21 Shehias of Pemba Island.

Through this initiative, we aim to strengthen marine ecosystem conservation, empower local communities, and promote sustainable opportunities through the Blue Economy. 🌿🌊

One day before this landmark moment, join us for a Youth-Led Pan-African Webinar exploring what the Treaty means for Africa, and the role African youth and early-career professionals will play in shaping the future of ocean governance beyond national boundaries.
