Summary of Position
Deputy Director of America House provides support to AH Director in supervision of programming and operation, manages staff, and ensures that events and activities at AH meet the needs and objectives of the program. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Description of Responsibilities
-Support AH Director in management of day to day operations at AH
-Oversee implementation of activities at AH
-Develop and supervise the implementation of tech related events
-Serve as a primary Ukrainian cultural liaison, develop and maintain effective collaboration with program partners;
-Coordinate and support AH Director in planning America House programs and events;
-Contribute to designing and supervise the implementation of M&E plan;
-Identify international and local speakers for the programming at AH;
-Provide supervision to select AH staff;
-Draft program reports;
-Budget program expenses for the respective program components and ensure budget discipline;
-Design and implement select public events;
-Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Degree in international development, public administration, political science, management or other relevant field;
-Minimum 5 years of experience of management in the nonprofit sphere;
-Proven experience in analyzing program and training needs;
-Broad experience in designing capacity development programs;
-Excellent communication skills;
-Demonstrated success in maintaining excellent collaborations with partner organizations, and ability to establish productive relationships with government officials, opinion leaders, and citizen groups at national and local levels;
-Excellent communications skills, including ability to make public presentations;
-Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
-Strong command of spoken/written English, Ukrainian, and Russian;
-Demonstrated ability to thrive in cross-cultural environments;
-Ability to handle multiple priorities and complete tasks/projects in accordance with stated deadlines;
-Ability to work during America House hours open to public: 12:00 – 21:00 Tue – Fri, 10:00 – 18:00 Sat.
