We want to give these children - children living the lives of adults - the opportunity to be a child, to play and to laugh out loud. Because every child has the right to enjoy being young.

Last week something big happened: one of my nephews learned how to ride a bike.🚲✨

That moment when the training wheels come off, a few shaky seconds turn into balance, and suddenly they’re just going… that’s a core life memory built.

It’s not really about cycling—it’s about confidence clicking into place. A small win that quietly becomes a story they’ll carry for years.

Proud doesn’t even cover it.

Last week, the Tjeko team visited Rocks and Agriculture Study Center for a hands-on learning experience in practical farming.🌱

What stayed with us most was the reminder that learning happens best through doing. Every new skill, every shared lesson, strengthens our mission to build sustainable and community-driven learning at Tjeko Fun Village.

We returned inspired, energized, and ready to keep growing. 🌿

From muddy field to sports field.💪🌱

The team has been working hard lately to improve the field at the playground park.
After the sports gala, it became clear that the field was in poor condition — very muddy.

So we got straight to work.👷‍♂️
In the photos, you can see the team leveling the ground and planting new grass. A big job, as you can see.😅

Just a little more patience… and soon the field will be ready again for football, netball, volleyball, and basketball.⚽🏐🏀

With the child at the center, a mother’s place comes very close.💛

A mother carries, nurtures and protects. Day after day. Today, we pause a little more than usual to reflect on that.🌸

Thank you, mama, for who you are. For your heart for children’s lives. For the way you bring color and meaning into a child’s world.✨

A heart for children started long before Tjeko existed.

In 2002, back in the days when Bosco was still working at Child Restoration Outreach, I (Ferdi) got to spend time with some of the coolest kids in town.

Fast forward to 2026 — almost 25 years later — and we are still going strong. Still with the same heart. Only now together with Tjeko.🤍
