The Lord Mayor of Kampala Capital City His Worship Eng. Salongo Engineer Balimwezo Ronald Nsubuga together with the City Executive Secretary in charge of Physical Planning and Civil Works Hon Luyombya Godfrey and a technical team from the relevant departments are currently in Moscow, Russia, attending a four-day Summit on International Transport.

The main objective of the summit is to connect leaders, manufacturers, and transport system operators from partner cities, and to generate transformative ideas on modern, science-driven urban mobility through the sharing of cutting-edge expertise in transport system modernization and digital innovation.

The delegation is being trained on new technologies in urban mobility and is forging partnerships for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Metro, and Light Rail systems. They are also developing collaborative strategies aimed at reducing traffic congestion and improving the quality of life for the people of Kampala through enhanced mobility.

Mobility encompasses not only the movement of vehicles, but also road safety and risk mitigation for all road users, including pedestrians and cyclists.

Kampala is expected to benefit from better and smarter transport solutions as a result of this engagement.

HON. LUYOMBYA GODFREY DONATES SANITARY PADS AND SCHOLASTIC MATERIALS TO PUPILS IN NAKAWA II ELECTORAL AREAS

The Kampala Capital City Executive Secretary for Physical Planning and Civil Works, who also doubles as LCV Councillor for Nakawa II Hon Luyombya Godfrey has today through the Andeleya Foundation, donated Reusable sanitary pads to school going teenagers aged between 10 and 15 years. The donation is aimed at promoting personal hygiene, protecting their health, and providing them with the confidence needed to attend school daily without disruption.

The beneficiary schools are St. Jude Primary School, Nagulu II, and Bright Junior Primary and Nursery School, Mbuya I Parish, and Mbuya Trinity Elegant School where over 500 girls benefited.

The team also donated books, pens, and geometry sets to both boys and girls in the candidate classes.

While handing over the items, Hon. Luyombya Godfrey commended the teachers for upholding discipline among the pupils, and further encouraged the pupils to study diligently in order to excel.

The Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Andrew, and the Coordinator, who is also the former Guild President Makerere University Business School Bruno Kamoga, requested teachers to always reach out to their leaders whenever a need arises to support vulnerable learners.

The Speaker of Nakawa Division Urban Council Rt. Hon. Nalubwama Jalia and Councillor Brian Olenge were also in company.

Today, the Kampala Capital City Executive Secretary for Physical Planning and Civil Works Hon Luyombya Godfrey who also doubles as the Lord Councillor for Nakawa II Electoral Area, participated in the LC1 elections for Kaggo Zone, Mbuya 1 Parish. The National Unity Platform candidate, Mr. Abdul Hussein Seguya, emerged the winner with 200 votes, while his opponent scored zero votes.
