CONSERVATION TRUST-UGANDA, A Youth Environment Network Con-Trust is ensuring meaningful youth involvement in community level sustainable development through promoting income generating opportunities.

The organization also supports local communities in conservation and preservation of habitat loss. Conservation Trust-Uganda (Con-Trust) was founded in August, 2003 as a community based grassroots youth organization to provide environmental information to community groups, public officials, education institutions, private individuals and others involved in public education and policy development.

In April 2006, it was registered as a Non-Governmental and Non-Profit making youth organization. The organization also supports local communities in conservation and preservation of habitat loss as well as empowering local communities to find solutions to environmental problems that threaten public health and the quality of life through participatory community involvement.

World Environment Day 2018 theme, slogan: Moving towards a plastic-free future

Ever since its conception in 1974, World Environment Day has had a special theme relating to the pressing environmental concern at the time. The theme for the year 2018 is “Beat Plastic Pollution”, and is a call for individuals to take charge of their surroundings and realise the severity of using plastic in daily life.
