Uganda Geographical Society

Uganda Geographical Society Uganda Geography Society is a society that belongs to all geographers in Uganda and the world at large

Uganda Geographical Society is an umbrella of Geographical Societies in the country. I call upon all Universities in the country to establish Geographical societies in their respective departments of Geography. The students in the different Universities in the country through their Geographical Societies should help establish Geographical societies in secondary schools in their areas of origin by

introducing the idea to the geography teachers in all the secondary schools in the country. Geography being an integrating study that deals with changes, differences and interrelationships is well placed to deal with a number of environmental problems being experienced in Uganda in particular and the world at large. Environmental problems such as Landslides, mudslides, floods, droughts and soil erosion are mainly a result of climate change and high population growth rate of 3.2 percent per annum has contributed to deforestation, swamp reclamation and encroachment on national parks, game and forest reserves.

Please Geographers we need to get an explanation from the climatologist expert’s about this, all the years in Uganda we have been getting heavy short rains in March – May which usually rains for 15-30 mins and this has been our climatic season but my dia friends things has completely changed now we are getting long rains which rains all most the whole day yet this is supposed to happen in October –September. For sure we need to follow the changes we get in our climate in order to predict the future…… in part two wait for the effects of long rains

Well, How many historical sites outside your cultural region.
Before you think of making a broad; start it here at home (Uganda) just like the rest did.
You can choose your friends but you can not choose your neighbors.
Lets explore, discover, and write our own history because "No matter how tall you father is, you must do your own growing"
Choose your destiny. Here is
