HAPPENING NOW:
At Najeera Busibante zone the Municipal team led by the Municipal Health Educator Mr. Patrick Ssekisambu, training the residents about the 3 Bin systems of waste management for a sustainable and healthy livelihood.
Ssekisambu says that the system is aiming at sorting wastes at household levels putting organic, plastics and sanitary wastes separately.
Whence its effected the system will help in a number of ways such as reducing costs in sorting wastes when taken to the dumpsite, reduce the spread of disease resulting from garbage mishandling; promote recycling of wastes and putting the residues into proper use such as manure, and promote re-usage.
In the same engagement attended by the Municipal Production Officer, Dr. Ab-baker Kintu government programs such as PDM, urban farming, Animal Vaccination among others have been talked about and the community has been urged to ensure that it fully participate.
A similar training is to take place in Najeera Bulabira in the evening hours in Kalitunsi zone where different Municipal Officers are expected to join and teach the residents for community transformation
