The beauty of conservation for generations is very evident in African (Ugandan) rural dwellings. These majorly rely on forestry products for cooking fuel unlike in the developed world where several alternatives are possible.
As population growth hits in Africa, and it's associated need for settlement space, land for economic activities such as farming among other practices, forest and wetland niches have been the most hit by these human driven transitions.
Who cares anyway!!!! Not until,: they can't find fuel wood, hit by strong winds, erratic rainfall patterns, heat waves among other disasters hit.
How if we rise and do something before it will be late. Africa, and the poor societies, unlike the developed world are at the highest risk of climate change disasters.,,,and by conscience we would be expected to always do more to preserve our environment. It's on rain fed agricultural production that we majorly rely for a livelihood, and hence any significant alterations of these systems would mean an escalation of hunger, poverty,,,, list it .
But the good news is that we have a chance to change this,,,
Let's protect forests, wetlands. And plant treeees/shrubs, Agroforestry.
The green tropics Initiave is here for this purpose.
# Hands united against climate change, hunger and poverty in Africa.
