Accessing your right to vote is a fundamental part of our community's civic engagement. To ensure that every voice can be heard, Long Cane AME church is extending a helping hand to those who may need assistance with transportation during the upcoming early voting period and on Election Day itself.

Understanding that getting to the polls can sometimes be a challenge, the church has graciously provided their church van as a dedicated resource for community members. This initiative aims to remove one of the potential barriers to participation, making it easier for everyone to cast their ballot.

If you or someone you know requires a ride to an early voting location or to your designated polling station on Election Day, please don't hesitate to reach out. The dedicated volunteers and members of Long Cane AME church are ready to assist.

To arrange for transportation, you can contact Loretta Brown Paul directly at 864-378-2237 or Brenda Phillips Anderson at 864-828-2174. Please call to schedule your ride in advance to help ensure smooth coordination. This is a wonderful example of community support in action, facilitating a crucial democratic process for all.

Make sure you get out and vote early tomorrow. The Senate will not reconvene until 11am and we need to let them know that our votes speak for themselves at 8:30 am when early voting opens!

VOTE EARLY!!

VOTE EARLY!!

Want to make your voice heard? Vote early.

As Republicans push a rushed redistricting plan that could disrupt South Carolina’s congressional primaries, voters have the power to show up and make their voices count.

Early voting begins Tuesday, May 26 at 8:30 a.m.
Make your plan and vote early.

The more South Carolinians who vote early, the harder it becomes to silence voters and rewrite the rules in the middle of the game.

As communities across the nation prepare to honor Juneteenth, Abbeville has a Juneteenth event 'Following in Our Ancestor's Footsteps' invites everyone to join a vibrant celebration on June 13th. This event offers a unique opportunity to engage with history, community, and culture, serving as a learning experience for all ages.

The day begins with a spirited parade at 10:00 AM, commencing on Wardlaw Street at the Civic Center and marching to the Square. It’s a wonderful chance to reflect on the journey of freedom and resilience.

Upon arrival at the Square, immerse yourself in the festivities. Children can delight in face painting, while everyone can explore offerings from unique vendors like Paparazzi Jewelry, Nikki's Smokehouse and Barbecue, Fin and Fish, and an irresistible Ice Cream stand, alongside many others. This gathering is more than just a celebration; it's a reflection of community strength and heritage. Local candidates will also be introduced, providing an opportunity to connect with civic leaders.

We strongly encourage everyone to come out and show their support for this meaningful Juneteenth Event. It’s a day to learn, celebrate, and remember.

Interested in participating in the parade or securing a vendor spot? Please contact Brenda Phillips Anderson at 864-828-2174, Edwina George at 864-344-5111, or Sheila Sanders at 864-378-6106.
