As I finished my devotions on this morning, I could not let go of this hymn. How many of you remember this?

You have longed for sweet peace, and for faith to increase, you have earnestly, fervently prayed; But you cannot have rest, or be perfectly blest, until all on the altar is laid.

Then the song writer asked the question!

Is your all on the altar of sacrifice laid? Your heart does the Spirit control? You can only be blest and have peace and sweet rest, as you yield Him your body and soul.

I leave this song with you on today. If you want peace and not just rest, but "sweet" rest, then take it all to the altar and leave it there.

Carla Cares: just a thought for today......If we choose not to put in the work, in whatever it is, healthier living, serving others, budgeting, healing from hurts, etc.....we will stay stuck. Let's choose to do better and be better!

A Point to Ponder by Peggy: Psalm 20:7 reads: Some trust in chariots; some in horses but: we will remember the name of the Lord.
Think about this, have you been feeling stressed out, burden down, confused and you just can’t seem to explain what you are feeling? Ask yourself this question? Say, “self” who and what am I TRUSTING to help me thru this time?” Now, be honest with your answer. The scripture text tells us that some trust in chariots,(what is your chariot) and some in horses,(who is your horse?) and still nothing has changed. But look closely at the text, the (:) provides the solution to your situation. It is really simple just REMEMBER THE NAME of the LORD. Think about what you have already been through and how the Lord brought you out; then think about the promises that he has made. I want to ENCOURAGE you on today, slow your roll, rest your mind and just remember the name (JESUS) because it’s at that name that every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that He Is Lord. I leave you with this question are you going to keep riding your chariots and horses or are you going to just remember the Name of the Lord that will keep you and the Name of the Lord that will save?
