This issue is not going away. 87-93% oppose Flock cameras.

Unlike other divisive issues, this one seems largely to be non-partisan at this point. Which is great.

Every time you give the government an inch, they will take a mile. This is an issue worth fighting over.

South Dakota DCI is installing surveillance cameras all across the state. Why? They say it’s to track criminals. It may do that, but it also tracks and records data on people that are not breaking any laws whatsoever.

THIS IS 100% UNACCEPTABLE.

Moreover, as I marked in one of the photos, the state has already spent your tax dollars to buy the equipment for the entire state.

Where was the public discourse? Where and when were the citizens of South Dakota consulted as to whether they wanted cameras installed tracking their every move.

1000s of small businesses in South Dakota have closed in the past five years. This was and is avoidable.

The fact that our Governor’s office is still handing out MILLIONS of taxpayer dollars to large companies, chamber of commerce groups, and development corporations rather than helping small businesses is astonishing to watch. 

Do people understand the purpose of these large handouts to Rich people?

Do they even care?

The lack of affordability is crushing working class folks in South Dakota. Groceries and property taxes are right at the top of that list.

The disparity between regular folks and the wealthiest 1% in South Dakota has increased rapidly in the past several years. Sadly, this trend is going to continue for the foreseeable future.

South Dakota, THANK YOU!!

Tonight, I have offered a sincere congratulations to Governor Rhoden. He, Sandy, their children, and their team have my FULL SUPPORT heading into November.

I encourage each and every one of my supporters to do the same.

Make no mistake, there can be no positive outcomes for the future of South Dakota if we do not unite our party around a common goal of protecting our great state for the next generation.

I am beyond proud of the amazing movement that you and I have built together. What started out as a quiet uprising of concerned citizens quickly became a political uprising that took our state by storm.

Together, we successfully challenged a slate of tired ideas, and helped shine light on a potential for a brighter future, fueled by BIG IDEAS and BIG CHANGE. We helped cast a vision for a better South Dakota, a safer and more affordable South Dakota. That vision does not disappear simply because this election has come to an end.

I am obviously disappointed with the outcome of tonight’s election, and I know many of you are as well, but we cannot allow our disappointment to turn into complacency or inaction.

Now is not the time to sulk in our sadness. Now is the time to double down on our efforts and engagement. Continue to fight for the vision we campaigned on, and continue to push for the bold, ambitious, conservative platform that we so desperately need in order to protect South Dakota’s future.

Thank you for all of the doors knocked, phone calls made, text messages sent, signs placed, events attended, and the prayers you prayed over me and my family. Words simply cannot express how grateful we are for each and every one of you.

Leadership is not about who gets the credit. It is about seeing a vision through to the end. This campaign was never about me. It was about protecting the future of South Dakota for the next generation. We must stop at nothing to ensure that future is protected.

Please pray for Governor Rhoden’s success. His success will mean success for each of us, our families and our future.

While being Governor would have afforded me the opportunity to help the state I love in a wide variety of ways, I am as excited as ever to continue giving back to South Dakota through our businesses and philanthropy.

Thank you, South Dakota for welcoming me into your lives, your homes, your communities and your families. It has been the honor of a lifetime.
