There are thousands of ladybug species, but the one we know and love is called the seven-spotted ladybug (Coccinella septempunctata). They are actually native to Europe, and we brought over to America to eat aphids off of crops.

While searching for caches, you may come across one of these little guys. They're not babies; they're just small species which are great for controlling bug populations. (Gardeners, they're important to plant health too!)

You might find little snakes in your yard this time of year.
