The Pettit College of Law will present the Kormendy Lecture, “How to Lose Constitutional Democracy – And How to Save It,” by Tom Ginsburg on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at 4 p.m. in Room 129 (Large Moot Courtroom). Ginsburg is the Leo Spitz professor of international law at the University of Chicago. He currently co-directs the Comparative Constitutions Project, an NSF-funded data set cataloging the world’s constitutions since 1789. Before he taught law, Ginsburg served as a legal advisor at the Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal, The Hague, Netherlands, and he has consulted with numerous international development agencies and governments on legal and constitutional reform. He currently serves as senior advisor on constitution building to International IDEA.

During fall break the ONU LLM Afghan students traveled to Washington DC to attend professional develop meetings. They met with officials from their Embassy, the US State Department and various international agencies and non-governmental organizations. Afghan Legal, Court Officials Visit Ohio Supreme Court

On April 5, 2016 students of the LEVAS Program visited the Ohio Supreme Court in Columbus to observe oral arguments. Afterward, Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor met with students for a question and answer session.
