Michigan Foster Care Closet- Lenawee County Branch The Foster Closet is an all volunteer tax-exempt non-profit organization providing aid to the Foster Care Community. What We Do!

We believe that children in foster care should live as normal a life as possible experiencing love, respect, and a kinder side of life while in their foster home. By providing foster children with gently used or new and up-to-date clothing and supplies, we can help raise their self-esteem so they can feel good about themselves.

Foster Parents can be unprepared for a newly placed child in terms of having the right size or quantity of clothing and equipment required for a particular child. Often children arrive in their new foster home with only the clothes on their back. This frequently places a financial hardship on the Foster Family to provide for the immediate clothing needs of children.

We deal directly with Foster Parents supplying them with clothing, shoes, new underwear and socks, baby gear, furniture, toys, car seats, etc. for the children in their care. This enables the Foster Parent to provide for the most basic needs of the child quickly and helps ease the transition into their new foster home family.
