My name is Anna Solis-Gautz and I am married to my best friend Chris Gautz who works for the State of Michigan. We have been happily married for 15 years. We are the proud parents of three wonderful children in the Adrian Public Schools. Our oldest, Brandon, is now in middle school and truly enjoys going to school every day. He is excited when he comes home to tell us about his day, especially his
science and social studies classes. Sarah is in fifth grade and is excited to learn from a brand new teacher to the district. She loves to tell us all about her classes... except for math. :)
Our youngest, Olivia, is now in kindergarten and told us after her first day of school that it was "the greatest day of my life." She is an amazing reader and likes math and wishes she had more time doing both everyday. Our children also enjoy the youth sports program and have participated in football, baseball, softball, track, golf, gymnastics, volleyball, swimming and cheerleading. We enjoy seeing them involved in extra curricular activities. We look forward to all of the ones they will continue to be apart of in the future. As they started in school and activities at Alexander, so did I. I began volunteering, joined the PTO where I held multiple seats and eventually became PTO President. Seeing the amazing teachers and staff at Alexander, it's been easy to want to give back and show my appreciation for all of their hard work teaching our students. I have also been honored to be part of several parent groups selected by APS to assist in the search for the new superintendent and to give input on school safety measures for the district. When I'm not volunteering or in the school pickup line, you'll find me at Ebeling Family Dentistry, where I have worked for more than 16 years as a dental hygienist. I studied dental hygiene and received my bachelor of science degree from the University of Michigan. I was the first member of my family on my father's side to receive a college degree. Growing up in a Hispanic family with grandparents who went from the fields to the factories, and made sacrifices to enrich their children's lives and watching my parents continue that legacy, it's now my turn. The opportunity to run for Adrian school board this November is my chance to give back to the Adrian community that gave so much to me. And to ensure my children, their classmates and all who come after them, that they will have access to the best education and services that Adrian provides.
