Members of visited Cuba this spring to provide humanitarian aid and basic medical supplies. The island nation has been devastated by the the U.S. blockade, which attempts to cut Cuba off from global trade. This cruel blockade has only been intensified by the Trump administration. The goal is clearly to overthrow the Cuban revolution, so that wealthy American elites can control the island for their profit (as they did until 1959).

What we witnessed was grim: fuel shortages, energy blackouts, and poverty. Tourism has been way down in 2026, as a result of Trump’s threats, which has decimated a huge sector of the island’s economy. All of this is the result of the cruel and barbaric U.S. blockade, funded by American taxpayers (the vast majority of who oppose military aggression against Cuba).

In dealing with great hardship, we witnessed the people of Cuba’s resilience: their resistance to U.S. imperialism, their struggle for self-determination, and their refusal to surrender their independence and sovereignty. We owe it to the great people of Cuba our utmost solidarity.

THE BLACK FREEDOM STRUGGLE CONTINUES!

We need to unite and fight against racism! Join us on Monday the 15th, 6pm, at Goodyear Library in east Akron for a political education discussion on ending racism and anti-Black oppression.

Akron, the one-time home of John Brown and a stop on the Underground Railroad, is still deeply segregated by race. Black families are still disproportionally poor, policed, and subject to environmental harms like pollution. This is not an accidental of history. It reveals how racial hierarchies perpetuate themselves through the generations. But it is not inevitable. We need to build a multi-racial, Black-led fight against racist conditions and anti-Black oppression.

So join us on Monday the 15th to talk about this fight and more!

Join us for the second annual Kent Pride rally for LGBT+ liberation. Last’s year event was a great success: an anti-corporate Pride that centered the fight for gay and trans power.

With countless reactionary attacks on the trans and gay communities, it is crucial we come together in solidarity to make it clear that we will keep struggling until all our free—including gay and trans youth!

Last week, Perry Township and the City of Canton voted to give an Amazon backed data center a 75% 30 year tax abatement. Shame!

But this fight is not over. Now is not the time to surrender. We have public opinion on our side—we just need to organize the disapproval into a sustained opposition!

CANTON: REJECT DATE CENTERS IN YOUR COMMUNITIES!

Perry Township is building a HYPER-SCALE DATA CENTER. Join us and other community members for an information and networking event where we will explain how we got here, who owns the Data Center, and what can be done, etc.

It is no secret that Stark County desperately needs new jobs. The resources and tax abatements given to these projects could be used to improve the lives of people across Ohio by creating jobs in green energy and updating and improving public infrastructure. Instead, they are being directed toward developments that enrich massive corporations and Billionaire investors

Data Centers pollute our community, use excessive amounts of water, and provide very few permanent jobs. The cost of a hyperscaled data center in our community far outweighs the benefits.

NO DATA CENTERS IN OUR COMMUNITY!!!

We are busy spreading the word: is coming to his hometown of Akron on Saturday, 2pm, for a campaign event at Trinity UCC.

Please come join us to hear from this anti-racist, anti-war, and pro-working people’s champion!

This movement is big and only growing: we have the chance to transform politics as we know it in Ohio. But we can only do it with your help!
