Whimsy Fest – First in a series of Phase 0 Events for Spring/Summer 2016 at Alameda Point

Phase 0 events will be coming on strong, as the first in a series of exciting events will enliven Alameda Point at the very site of the new Site A development. On April 30, 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Whimsy Fest, will bring fun and whimsy, as the name implies, in the form of live music, local beer and wine, crafts and a parade with clowns, street performers, jugglers, brass bands and more. This event is for all-ages and will be located in the area between Building 67 and 117, along West Trident Avenue.

The event space will be temporarily transformed, beginning around April 25th through June into “the place to be” with the help of large-scale murals that will be painted on two 40 foot shipping containers and on two of the buildings (67 and 13) scheduled to be demolished when construction of Site A begins.

Later in the summer, a container village will magically and artfully emerge and set the stage for other summer events – movie nights, summer concerts, aquatic events and a big 4th of July celebration. Or if you prefer to just lounge and meet up with friends to enjoy the spectacular view, you can do that with the protection against the sun and wind while enjoying yourself at the upcoming beer garden and café.

Stay tuned for what’s happening at The Point!
