OK, ya'll, life is about to change for us... is a few big ways!!! (those announcements to follow in the future). We would like to let go of about half of our breeding stock.
THEY ARE FREE OR VERY SMALL REHOMING FEE!!!!
We want to reiterate we are not dispersing our entire breeding operation, we would just like to downsize. We made this announcement in December and while a few adults have found homes, it is time we got very serious and found loving/retirement homes for more. Free or small rehoming fees are for companions only- Not on breeding prospects, although there are many who are still young and awesome producers and we will make package deals on those we feel still have a future in a breeding program. Details including a small skit about what type of home would best suit each dog included are in the caption of each photo. LOTS more photos available of them all. Message or email for more details on each dog. I would be happy to discuss any of them privately.
DO NOT COMMENT WITH QUESTIONS ON THEIR PHOTOS!!!! MESSAGE or EMAIL US!!!! We will not respond to inquiring comments. I prefer to communicate privately and it is hard to answer questions on photos, where as messages all stay in one place.

Top therapy prospects!!!

Introducing London/Whiskey litter.
Born Jan 22nd, ready for their new homes after turning 8 weeks of age March 18th. These pups are the most outgoing, friendly, cant shoo them away for the life of you, pups we have right now. They don't and never will know a stranger. They will go about life that way and we are ok with that. This pairing was done with the intention to produce sound therapy prospects, some may doubled over as SD/ESA for the right individuals. Also some of these pups will be a little smaller than we normally raise. Both London and Whiskey tend to downsize their genetics. We are anticipating these individuals to mature in the 15-16 inch range and 30-35 lbs. They are correct and strong in their build. All had full tails that have been docked. Both parents come directly from Timberline. We wouldn't hesitate to watch and evaluate some of these individuals with the intent to potentially place them in show/breed homes. They have the mind, look and disposition to really thrive in almost any venue we could put them in. Individual details are listed in the captions of their photos. We will be posting individual posts with more details as they get closer to 8 weeks. They are flying through puppy basics, its way too easy for them. They are smarter than should be and they know it. Please PM FMI on any of these individuals.

Lazy D Ranch Australian Shepherds

AVAILABLE!!
"Cacao" black tri male, limited white, two blue eyes, natural bob tail as short as a dock would be, from our Mia/Shotgun litter. This litter went really fast, and we kept TWO from this cross back for our own program. This boy is amazing!!! He's so black he shines, topped off with that ice blue eyes, then you meet him, MELT ME NOW! He will charm your socks off and leave you wanting more. He is cool, calm, collected and as sauve as they come. He knows he's good looking but not conceited, just confident. He is extremely easy going and doesn't know a stranger. No reservations about anything in life we have introduced him to thus far. He has just been the most fun pup to raise. Always made things seem easy, like he was born knowing it, and we quickly moved on to the next thing. He sits and watches us at the fence line when we are outside. Quietly, I may add! He is not impatient or demanding, rather, very understanding and accepting of any place he is at any time. Seriously ya'll this is the neatest pup! We are absolutely blown away with this litter. This is Mia's second litter for us. We were highly impressed with her first litter, but she's really outproduced herself this go round. To elaborate on the lines a little bit- Mia is a daughter of Pearl/Whiskey, we have another litter by Pearl in which we have put out a lot of info on her line. She is my personal back up SD. Pearl is a daughter of our top producing service female, Cassi. This pup below is sired by Shotgun, she is a daughter of my personal ESA, Dlynn, and she is a daughter of Ty, who was our very first stud dog we purchased back in 2007!!!! Ya'll we've owned four generations of this pup's pedigree that has literally enveloped and shaped our program for 13 YEARS!!!!!! We couldn't be more pleased!! This boy should mature in the 18-19 inch, 40-50 lbs. DOB: January 12. He will be ready to go to his new home March 08th after turning 8 weeks of age. PM or email FMI.

AVAILABLE!!!
"Almond" black tri female, one blue eye- one marbled, natural bob tail that is about as short as a dock would be, from our Pearl/Shotgun litter. This girl is available a pet only for the price of our deposit. She has an overbite. (Both parents bites are scissor, no known off bites in the line and this is a 3rd generation LDR breeding). It will not stop her from making an outstanding pet. This girl is a very quiet, soft, and easy going individual. She isn’t the first one to jump into the unknown but with a little encouragement she never hesitates to join in. This will be a dog that will require a close bond with her person/people to really thrive and be fulfilled in life. With that bond she will be invincible. We could see her being a devout ESA to someone that needs that extra support in life. She does too. So this girl is available to a special kind of home, and would prefer anyone interested in her meet her first. Just so you can get a feel of her energy and likewise her, yours. She is certainly special and we are seeking that special home for her. As we mentioned in her sister’s post, her dam, Pearl is my personal SD, not to mentioned a direct daughter of our top producing service dog female, Cassi. But to add to it, her sire, Shotgun is a son of my personal ESA, Dlynn who is a daughter of our very first stud dog, Ty, that literally started it all for us!!! This cross is so unbelievably special to us. And they did NOT disappoint!! She should mature 17-18 inches and 35-45 lbs. DOB: January 12. They will be ready to go at 8 weeks of age on March 08th. PM FMI.

AVAILABLE!!
"Walnut" black tri male, two blue eyes, full tail from our Pearl/Shotgun litter. HOLY WOW YA'LL!!!! THIS BOY IS SOMETHING!!!!! I don't need anymore tri males or there is no way I would have ever made him available to the public. This boy has a massive amount of bone and substance, and check out that head piece, ear set, topped off by that icing with those blue eyes and dark copper points. I could never have a pup again and be satisfied with the quality that is coming from our second, third and fourth generation LDR dogs. This boy highly sensible, he is medium energy, very quiet- he likes to sit and observe, assess the situation before jumping in the middle of it. He has shown us to be quite the cuddler, he senses when the time is right and always acts in an appropriate manner. We just couldn't ask for anymore from this individual. We would ideally like to see this boy into a breed/show home. He does have a tail- I wouldn't for a second hesitate to send him overseas to a show/breed home and would entertain discounting his full rights price to get him into that kind of situation. This boy is exceptional. On top of his incredible look and features, his dam, Pearl is my personal SD, not to mentioned a direct daughter of our top producing service dog female, Cassi. But to add to it, his sire, Shotgun is a son of my personal ESA, Dlynn who is a daughter of our very first stud dog, Ty, that literally started it all for us!!! "Pecan" blue merle female, two marbled eyes, full tail, from our Pearl/Shotgun litter. This girl is probably my pick of the litter, and that's saying something because I would consider this litter outstanding!!! So I want to impress upon our fans how awesome this girl is. She doesn't know a stranger and has the most easy going, flow through life, not take things hard or too serious, type of personality. At the same time, she is deep, compassionate and very empathetic. She greets every new person with a tail wag and lick but will always return back to who she knows to sit/lay with. She has lower activity level but not a couch potato by any means. Medium energy. She is always up for an adventure and down for some cuddle time. What an outstanding personality on a pup that hasn't even reached 8 weeks old yet. We wouldn't hesitate to put this girl in any SD, ESA or therapy home. AVAILABLE!!
"Acorn" blue merle female, two brown eyes, full tail, from our Pearl/Shotgun litter. This girl is wise beyond her weeks, she is not a puppy, she just GETS IT! She is an old soul, wise, and will always act that way. She can feel emotion on another level and will be a dog that bonds extremely hard with her person/people. She is, however, not needy, she is strong, bold and confident. She has a very balanced temperament and calm disposition. She is not high energy and not real excitable. She is her mother in every way, shape and form- except color. Pearl does have her SD certification and is my back up SD that I take with me on occasion when my top girl is tired. We then crossed Pearl with a son, Shotgun, of my personal ESA, Dlynn, and created what we would consider some of the best service and ESA prospects we have had recently. To top it off Dlynn’s sire is Ty who literally stared it ALL for us!! This girl is completely house, crate and leash trained, again she just GOT IT! And ran with it. She is so easy to teach new things to it should be illegal. Pups like her don't come along everyday, even in our program. We would like to see this girl into a home that would appreciate and cultivate all she has to offer. She should mature 18-19 inches and 35-50 lbs. DOB: January 12. They will be ready to go at 8 weeks of age on March 08th. Shipping and transportation available worldwide. PM FMI.

Lazy D Ranch Australian Shepherds

We have reduced prices on ALL our older pups that are of age to go to their new homes. Every one of these pups have been put through all our training courses a have it down to a T. There is not much more we can do to teach or progress them along. As much as we enjoy spending our days with them, they are really begging for their own people and family. That's a lot of love to split!!! We have started working with our younger litters, starting them on basics and hence the reason for the price reduction, to help move these older pups into their own homes. All are available to leave at anytime, house/crate/leash trained. Several SD and ESA prospects- each in their own right! I wish we could keep several of these pups but, that's probably my most spoken phrase in my life that last ten years. LOL! So, here they are, we want to share them with you. Details are in the comment of each photo. Prices listed in comments are reduced... PM FMI.

Lazy D Ranch Australian Shepherds

AVAILABLE!!
"Milo" formally known as "Dopey" from our Dlynn/Shiner July 2019 litter. Black tri male, amber eyes, minimal white with some seriously heavy, dark copper points. This boy took a while to find his home, and when he did, they just didn't jive. NO ONES FAULT!!! It just wasn't the right match. We have since matched another pup with his previous family and so now, we are looking for the RIGHT home and situation for Milo. He is an outgoing friendly boy so long as he is comfortable or around people he knows and is familiar with. He doesn't like change and we can see that he will really need that BOND with a person to be completely balanced in his life. He does extremely well here with us, seems to really like the life we live and the routine we have. But any change is a little hard for him to adjust to. He always comes around but you can just sense he is a little uneasy with the change. I could see him being a devout ESA to someone that can win his heart and trust. This dog is very deep and if I know the line well enough, he will love his person harder than they have ever been loved. He is completely trained, house, crate, leash. Currently turned out on our acreage, he does well loose, with our other animals and has a quick recall. He gets along well with all of our others dogs and is still intact but doesn't know he is a "man" yet. Currently he stands 16.5 inches and weighs 30 lbs. I am seeking someone for this boy that has experience with aussies, that know how hard they can love but also how unsure they can be when their confidence in a certain situation goes out the door. This boy is easy to encourage. He responds quickly and thankfully when given that extra "you're doing good Milo" and moves on through whatever he is uneasy about. He is by no means a skittish dog. He just lacks confidence in certain areas and seeks it from those he knows are his safe place. I could see this boy being a serious ESA to any active individual whom has the patience and understanding to help Milo gain his confidence in the world. He would forever be indebted to you and would give his whole life and being to you. I would like any potential home to meet him before committing. We are available by appointments to meet this boy. He is ready to go at anytime.

AVAILABLE!!!
"Rice" black tri male, two brown eyes, 3/4 natural bob tail. SERIOUS SHOW/BREED prospect. But he has also evaluated as a top SERVICE/THERAPY/ESA prospect. We are proud to present to the public one of the nicest prospects we've had in a long time!!! This is what near perfection in our eyes looks like. He is hard to fault in any way. Check out the heavy amount of bone and substance. The head piece on this dog is incredible, short muzzle and a deep stop. Soft, kind almond shaped eyes. Nice lay of shoulder. He is strong, straight and correct over his topline with good angulation in his stifles. Short toes, tight feet and short, strong pasterns. I would love to see this boy in someone's program, looking to take it to the next level, who is striving to also raise service/therapy dogs. In terms of his temperament and disposition- this boy is very down to earth. He is level headed and thinks before he acts. He is not shy, skittish or reserved in any way. He is friendly but not over bearing. Medium to lower energy. He has learned a leash, crate, and basic commands faster than any other pup in this litter. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY NICE DOG!!!! I had his priced marked down but after this week's evaluations- he is worth every penny of what he is priced at now. Quality! He should mature in the 18-19 inch range and 45-50 lbs. DOB: Oct 25th. They turned 8 weeks on Dec 20th, making them 13 weeks old. This litter is ready to leave at anytime. They have all been started in house, crate and leash training.
(Breed/Show people... if you are on the fence about this boy only because he has a tail- have it removed and go on with this dog in the ring. We have no restrictions such as. HE IS WORTH IT!)

Lazy D Ranch Australian Shepherds... Bred for a purpose!!!!

Lazy D Ranch Australian Shepherds... Bred for a purpose!!!!

This may be one of my more controversial pieces, but please stay with me until the end and give it a chance.

The “adopt don’t shop” movement is toxic.

Yes, you read that correctly, but don’t crucify me yet. Hear me out.

I am all for responsible rescues. I just think the movement needs more nuance. “Adopt don’t shop” needs to become “Adopt or shop, just do so responsibly”.

“Adopt don’t stop” pits two kinds of dog lovers against each other. It also lumps reputable breeders together with backyard breeders and puppy mills.

If you truly love dogs, then you really cannot only be in favor of rescue. Reputable breeders do not allow their dogs to end up in rescue. They offer a lifetime of support and make it a contractual obligation that any dog bred by them is returned to them should the owner no longer be able to care for them. Only supporting rescue, and demonizing even the most reputable of breeders, essentially means that the only dogs you think people should own are ones bred either through irresponsible breeding practices or irresponsible ownership of intact dogs bought through the proxy of a rescue.

If you truly love dogs, you should be demanding that we do better by them. You should want there to be more reputable breeders in the world. Reputable breeders make it their goal when breeding to not only preserve a breed’s original purpose, but to produce overall healthier and more conformationally and temperamentally sound dogs with predictable drive. Without reputable breeding, we’ll eventually run out of healthy and genetically predictable dogs to enjoy.

“Adopt don’t shop” also overlooks the crucial element that some people need dogs bred for specific jobs and they need to be able to reliably know that dog has the correct drive and health to do it which can’t be guaranteed in a shelter mix. For instance, even well bred service dog prospects often wash. Training a service dog is a lengthy and costly process, and the handler is often quite literally placing their life in the paws of their service dog. A handler would be taking a much larger risk in trying a puppy or even adult dog with an unknown past and genetic history. Other jobs that typically require a well bred dog from proven lines include: hunting, herding, livestock guardians, personal protection, search and rescue, or military/police work.

In addition to needing specific things out of a working dog, many people want a well bred dog as their companion. Arguably companionship is the largest purpose for dogs and for most people it is the most important, so why should we not want the best for our companions? We want our dogs to be with us for as long as possible, so we should want them to have the absolute best start in life. We should want them to come from generations of fully health tested parents in order to breed them away from common heritable health issues. We should want predictable temperaments and drive, so we know that the dog we are bringing into our home is a good fit for our lifestyle.

We will always need reputable rescues, but it is important to know that there are many reasons that someone would not want to bring an unknown mix with an unknown past into their home. Maybe it’s because they have small animals and aren’t willing to risk their lives on a rescue that may prove to have an extremely high prey drive or be small animal aggressive. Maybe it is because they have children and can’t be sure the rescue has the temperament needed to tolerate the specific behaviors often exhibited by small children. Maybe it is simply because they want the joy of raising a specific breed from a puppy and ensuring it has the absolute best start in life in terms of socialization and training.

The important thing to know is how to separate the reputable from the those who are not, as there are examples of both in both rescue and breeding. Knowing how to tell them apart makes a world of difference.

Know better for your dogs. Demand better for your dogs.

Adopt OR shop responsibly.
