Special Olympics New Mexico Otero County Special Olympics New Mexico provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.


Our next tournament is fast approaching. This is bowling in Albuquerque. Come watch teams for throughout the state compete for gold March 18th. The tournament takes place in the Santa Ana Star Casino in Bernalillo.


Our team is getting ready for the upcoming State Summer Games. They are in the coming weeks. Cheer them on for more Gold Medals.


Another great season is off and running. Unified Bowling is going strong. More updates coming soon.


Athletes and Unified Partners of Special Olympics New Mexico Otero County rocked it during the state games for unified bowling this weekend in Albuquerque.


Remember that you cannot bowl in area games if you don't have 8 games in. If you do, then have fun! That's what it's all about.


The Special Olympians from Otero County that went to state in Albuquerque for track and field threw out the first pitch last night at the White Sands Pupfish game. Followed by a autographed baseball from the team. The It was awesome. The athletes had a great time!! Thanks Charlie for arranging everything.


Another great Summer Games. The weather was great and we got to see an Isotopes victory. Our athletes earned 14 medals - 8 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze, and 2 Ribbons. Now off to golf.

This was sent out today from Randy Mascorella, the Executive Director of Special Olympics New Mexico, your immediate attention. All Special Olympics New Mexico activity has been suspended until March 31st. This includes all training, competition and fundraising activities. The 2020 SONM Unified Team Bowling Tournament has been canceled and will not be rescheduled. In addition, Summer Games sports (Athletics, Bocce, Flag Football and Volleyball) will resume training on April 1st.
