NMSU-A ADA is a page designed to promote awareness to disability issues, and increase the educational opportunities to students registered with ASD
The Accessibility Services Department (ASD) assists individuals with documented disabilities to obtain appropriate academic accommodations. Students with sensory, mobility, learning, or other recognized impairments are encouraged to apply for services through this office. Students who seek assistance are encouraged to contact the ASD Coordinator at 575-439-3724 prior to enrollment in classes to obtain the “Petition for Disabled Student Services” form. This form may then be completed by the student and the authority certifying the disability (i.e., doctor, educational diagnostician, etc.) and returned to ASD. Appropriate reasonable accommodations may then be considered.

*Shot and Killed In The Line Of Duty*
Rest In Peace Police Officer Clint Corvinus
Alamogordo Police Department, New Mexico
End Of Watch: 09-02-16
Officer Clint Corvinus, 33, was shot and killed during a foot pursuit of wanted suspect. (details below). Born with a soul that has Courage to wear the Badge, Ofc. Corvinus had been Saving, Serving, and Protecting the People as a Law Enforcement Officer for 4 1/2 years (total). Upon graduating the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy on June 14, 2013, Ofc. Corvinus began rollin' and patrollin' as a patrol officer with the Alamogordo PD and was currently an Field Training Officer.
from the Corvinus family " Clint loved his menagerie of animals, and held a special affinity for dogs and snakes. He loved life, never met a stranger and could always make you laugh. Clint loved his family and friends, and always made time for both. Alamogordo lost a son, father, brother, friend and so much more. He will be missed by all those he touched in one way or another."
Courageous and Compassionate, Fearless and Fair, this Brave and Benevolent Son, Father, and Brother of Blue simply wanted to make a difference in his small corner of the world. May we take a part of Brother Clint's legacy with us when we enter into our daily arenas while continuing to create our own. May we vow to continue with the same Duty, Courage, Honor, and Respect as this True Blue served. May we always remember Police Officer Clint Corvinus for how He Lived As Only A Hero Could.
May we never forget how his life was taken while trying to protect the public from a wanted violent felon ...
On Friday, September 02, 2016, 0830hours, Alamogordo Police Officer Clint Corvinus and his trainee were on regular patrol near the White Sands Trailer Park when they spotted a known wanted suspect. A foot pursuit ensued and the suspect began shooting at the Officers. The Officers were forced to shoot back and killed the suspect. Ofc. Corvinus was shot and transported to General Champion Regional Medical Center.
Following this incident, direct threats against the Alamogordo Police came in by fellow gang members of the suspect. They threatened to shoot the Police. At this time, no suspects were known and no arrests have been made. The APD, the New Mexico State Police, and all surrounding agencies are on high alert. We will update as this investigation continues.
The trainee officer was also transported after being shaken up (we will update our Sister's name when permitted).
Sadly, and with very heavy hearts, this proved to be our Brother's final battle ... Police Officer Clint Corvinus succumbed to his gunshot wounds and was pronounced at 0918hours.
New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez adds: "I am again so very saddened to see that yet another courageous law enforcement officer has been killed in the line of duty. I ask all New Mexicans to keep this brave officer’s family and friends in their thoughts and prayers. The violence against our police officers has to end, and we must do everything we can to stand up for those who put their lives on the line every single day to protect us."
Clint leaves behind his parents, Tom and Cindy, his 14-year-old daughter, Jessica; sister, April Sanchez and husband Jayme; grandmother, Margaret; and his girlfriend, Amber Anderson. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Corvinus and Anderson families, the Men and Women of the Alamogordo PD, the New Mexico State Police, to all responders who came running to assist, and to all whom have had the pleasure and the privilege of knowing and working along side this True Blue Hero. Special healing thoughts and prayers go out to the second Officer and her family (we will update name once permitted).
Our Brother, as you now patrol the streets of Heaven may you continue your vigilant watch over us all as we carry on in the battles to come ... In Our Brother's Honor. We thank you for your service and for your sacrifices. We thank you for your life. Job Well Done Sir.
Rest In Peace Police Officer Clint Corvinus ... We Have The Watch From Here. SALUTE!

"Several times lately I have tried to remember my time in middle school, did I like all my teachers, do I even remember them? Did I have many friends? Did I sit with anyone at lunch? Just how mean were kids really? I remember one kid on the bus called me "Tammy Fay Baker" because I started awkwardly wearing eye liner in the sixth grade, I remember being tough and calling him a silly name back, but when he couldn't see me anymore I cried. I do remember middle school being scary, and hard. Now that I have a child starting middle school, I have feelings of anxiety for him, and they can be overwhelming if I let them. Sometimes I'm grateful for his autism. That may sound like a terrible thing to say, but in some ways I think, I hope, it shields him. He doesn't seem to notice when people stare at him when he flaps his hands. He doesn't seem to notice that he doesn't get invited to birthday parties anymore. And he doesn't seem to mind if he eats lunch alone. It's one of my daily questions for him. Was there a time today you felt sad? Who did you eat lunch with today? Sometimes the answer is a classmate, but most days it's nobody. Those are the days I feel sad for him, but he doesn't seem to mind. He is a super sweet child, who always has a smile and hug for everyone he meets. A friend of mine sent this beautiful picture to me today and when I saw it with the caption 'Travis Rudolph is eating lunch with your son.' I replied 'who is that?' He said 'FSU football player' then I had tears streaming down my face. Travis Rudolph, a wide receiver at Florida State, and several other FSU players visited my sons school today. I'm not sure what exactly made this incredibly kind man share a lunch table with my son, but I'm happy to say that it will not soon be forgotten. This is one day I didn't have to worry if my sweet boy ate lunch alone, because he sat across from someone who is a hero in many eyes. Travis Rudolph thank you so much, you made this momma exceedingly happy, and have made us fans for life!"
