The City of Alba

The City of Alba A little town with a big heart. Alba was settled in 1843, and the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad reached Alba in 1881.

Later that year, Alba also received a post office. By 1882, a townsite had been laid out and a number of merchants were opened in the area. It is located 80 miles east of Dallas, Texas and just 5 miles south of Lake Fork, which holds the record for 34 out of the top 50 largemouth bass caught in Texas. Alba has a lot of history, and that sweet county charm.

City garbage customers: Live Oak will NOT be doing routes today, so no garbage pickup. They are working on getting us a recovery schedule. We will update when we hear more.

There are raffle tickets for purchase at City Hall!

Tell your friends, your friend’s friends, and even their friends that one week from Saturday, Alba VFD is hosting our annual fish fry. There will be a co****le tournament, live auction, band, and fish! This event is a way to get out into the community to enjoy good fellowship as well as supporting your local VFD. All plates served are by donation.

Also, new to this year, we have created a Venmo account that will allow individuals the opportunity to donate without having to carry cash on them. We are so blessed to serve the community of Alba and we hope to see everyone there!
