Unite & Rise: Voting Rights Day of Action

Join the LWV Berkeley Albany Emeryville today for Unite & Rise Day of Action to sustain energy around voting rights. And put the pressure on your elected officials to uphold and protect voter rights.
I’ll be joining today in a moderated keynote panel with local elected officials on the importance of voting, representation, and share an exclusive bit on what ancestral guidance has moved me to advocate for our communities as the first ever Latino Councilmember and former Mayor of Albany.

We want to thank our campaign team and supporters for coming out on Friday to share, connect, and manifest visions together.

We were excited to not only have Anahuac packed for our campaign launch, but also appreciated the opportunity to help support a local business. We got a few more planned!

López of the Albany Forward 2026 slate has been endorsed by the Sierra Club.
This speaks to the collective power that our strong duo has, as our expertise and policy experience is deep and impactful.

Happy to announce I’ve received the strong endorsement of the Sierra Club in my re-election bid for Albany city council.
As the only environmental scientist and ecologist on council (and likely on the final ballot), much has been accomplished during my 1st term. But there’s more work to be done.

Myself and my running-mate, Aaron Tiedemann, are the only ones entering this election with a proven track record of making key policy decisions for our environment.

Tonight during our Ava Community Energy board meeting, Igor Tregub amended the motion faster than me, to support adding an additional $3million to support the ebike rebate program. I had shared that these are the decisions we must make while in a climate emergency - to support alternative options and create pathways for those who otherwise may not be able to afford a new bike.
I shared my personal story of a rebate program that helped me get a bike so I could commute from Richmond to UC Berkeley. These programs make a difference!
The board voted to approve!
Thanks Igor for your quick moment of advocacy!
And thanks to the many public comments. I was very inspired to hear from Bike East Bay and The New Wheel highlight social and economic impacts they have witnessed.
