DDPC Education Committee Parent Survey

DDPC Network & Friends:

The Council’s Education Committee is gathering information about New Mexican children and families’ education experiences—especially with special education services—during pandemic school closures. Please help us distribute our DDPC Spring 2020 Education Survey to all parents with children who should be receiving special education or other accommodations (504 plans, etc.) in their schools.

English survey: https://s.surveyplanet.com/h6and34ID

Spanish survey: https://s.surveyplanet.com/9_M05WS_y

(Vietnamese, Diné Bizaad/Navajo, and other translations will be distributed as they become available.)

We encourage folks to complete the survey immediately. We would like to gather as many responses as possible to inform decision-makers about New Mexico’s current educational landscape. The NM Public Education Department is already working on plans to reopen schools, and we would like to provide this information to guide their planning process.

We also ask that you help us distribute the survey to families who do not have access to the Internet. Parents/guardians may call DDPC at (505) 841-4519 for assistance completing the survey over the phone if they do not have Internet access. Parents/guardians who wish to remain anonymous will not be asked to provide any identifying information.

If you have more than one student in Special Education, please fill out one questionnaire for each student. All information will be kept confidential. A report with results added together will be made available to anyone who asks for it, but individual responses will not be made public and will be d...

The National Disability Institute and its partner organizations are collecting information to be used in developing responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, including in advocacy efforts to press Congress, federal agencies and state governments to protect the interests of persons with disabilities as responses to the coronavirus emergency are developed and implemented. NDI has a brief online survey to collect information on how the emergency is affecting the disability community. We encourage you to go to https://ndiinc.formstack.com/forms/financial_resiliency_during_corona_virus and respond to the survey to help in these advocacy efforts.
Wondering what to do with your time at home? We need you to speak your mind and provide much-needed information so we can develop a comprehensive, accurate, and effective Five-Year Plan to help New Mexicans with disabilities. Go to https://s.surveyplanet.com/NYFvsjjj and complete the survey.
