Weekly certification questions are a federal requirement. To continue receiving Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), your employment must have been partially or totally disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During your weekly certification, you will be asked to answer Pandemic Questions (Section 5) to determine whether your loss of work is due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you answer yes, you will need to identify at least one qualifying event.

All questions must be answered honestly on a weekly basis.

Our Story

The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS), whose mission is to Educate, Empower, Employ, and Enforce, is committed to being a leader in and a facilitator of a competitive workforce for the benefit of all New Mexico.

NMDWS has statewide oversight of workforce development programs, for both youth and adults, funded by Wagner-Peyser, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, and the Veterans Act. NMDWS administers various federal programs including: Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA); Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC); and Rapid Response (RR). NMDWS also enforces minimum wage, payment of wages, and overtime labor laws under the New Mexico Minimum Wage Act in addition to enforcing the payment of scale wages to laborers and mechanics under the New Mexico Public Works Minimum Wage Act. The department accepts and investigates claims of discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, ancestry, sex, age, physical and mental handicap, serious medical condition, disability, spousal affiliation, sexual orientation, and gender identity. The department also produces labor market information by collecting, analyzing, reporting, and publishing information about economic conditions and trends such as the unemployment rate, job growth and wage levels. Information is also provided on the types of jobs and how they are changing, the available workers and their characteristics. Lastly, NMDWS administers the Unemployment Insurance (UI), the largest program in the department, which pays benefits to people who are out of work through no fault of their own and who meet certain qualifications. NMDWS processes claims for unemployment benefits, manages the UI Operations Center, and authorizes the weekly payment of benefits to claimants submitting their UI certifications.

I am not sure who from the Department of Workforce Solutions reads this but I just want to applaud a woman named Jazmine that works for NMDWS. She was SUPER kind, patient, and helpful to me. She went above and beyond to clarify my multiplesquestions and help me out to her best ability. Thank you for your kindness in the midst of this crazy time! Give that woman a raise or promotion already! She deserves it!
You would think that whoever's job it is to manage this facebook account, should really be helping to get accounts back working again since the system isn't functioning properly.
Hello does anyone work in this office? If so is there a way to reach a human? The phone lines are down and my account says it's locked. Can someone please help me???
THIS DEPARTMENT IS BROKEN. I PAID TAX FOR YEARS AND NOW HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS BROKEN POS WEBSITE THAT REFUSES TO PAY WHAT IM ENTITLED. THERE IS NO WAY TO REACH A HUMAN AT THIS DEPARTMENT. THE WEBSITE IS BROKEN.
Okay my dad filled for Covid19 lost of income unemployment that was supposed to be started paying out at the end of September. And now 5 days into October NOT A SINGLE PAYMENT OF THE $300.00 PER WEEK. WHERE IS THE MONEY OWED TO WORKERS WHO HAVE HAD THEIR HOURS CUT BECAUSE OF MLJ SHUT DOWN DID SHE TRANSFER IT TO ANOTHER AREA LIKE SHE DID THE CARE ACT EDUCATION FUNDS??
Did anyone get to not certify yesterday and it not come up on their page
Help! The system won't let me certify my weekly claim. What is happening?
Site is not allowing people to certify today, is this getting worked on?
Why can’t we certify? You also sent us electronic correspondence then locked us out of our accounts which prohibits us from reading those correspondence? What is going on? We cannot afford this sort of negligence.
I filed for extended benefits 8-6-20. Close to 3 months later not 1 payment.. I have an ICON hold but the ICON system gives answers imediatley why wont you pay me. . ???Intial Benefits verified all ihe info being verified again but is taking 3 times longer..I though there was supposed to be help for us here in America?..I can only go so long not paying rent till my family me..wife and 2 kids have to move into our car...
What happens when your balance runs out before your benefit year does?
I was on COVID-19 PUA since April getting regular self-employment unemployment. When the federal ran out July 31at my account was basically suspended and I haven’t received any unemployment since July 31st (almost 2 months). To get my account on track I’ve had to argue my case, I have a hearing mid December. NMDWS say that whilst your case is in the appeals process you can still do your weeklies, but all payments will be pending. Anyone else dealing with this???? So I’ll have to wait almost 5 months without any unemployment payments!?!? How do they think people can live with any money coming in! I have bills, car payments... oh yeah and food to afford!
