Amnesty International at UNM (AIUNM) is a student group that focuses on ongoing human rights violations while working to educate the campus and Albuquerque area about these abuses and campaigning to correct them.

When: Every Tuesday from 7-8 pm. Where: TBD Amnesty International's mission is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights. Amnesty International is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights for all. Our supporters are outraged by human rights abuses but inspired by hope for a better world - so we work to improve human rights through campaigning and international solidarity. We have more than 2.2 million members and subscribers in more than 150 countries and regions and we coordinate this support to act for justice on a wide range of issues.

Hi everyone, my name is Nani Detti. I'm a temporary admin for this page, as I am using it to reach out to students at UNM interested in getting the Amnesty International chapter there be active again. I am the Amnesty International Student Activist Coordinator for New Mexico this year and my job is to support local Amnesty chapters across New Mexico. So if anyone on this page is currently a student at UNM or knows students there who want to get involved with Amnesty and want to restart the chapter, please let me know. Let's stand in solidarity for Troy Davis, and against the Death Penalty. Meet at the Duck Pond starting at 12:00PM. We will begin marching at 12:10PM through campus toward Central. Here's some more info about his case and why we are advocating for him, and to stop his execution which has been set for SEPTEMBER 21, 2011.
