About NM Tech Engagement: We are the technology outreach arm of the Air Force Research Laboratory in New Mexico. We specialize in transferring cutting-edge technologies to industry, with an emphasis on better equipping the US warfighter. In 1990, Phillips Laboratory, a research and development organization operated by the United States Air Force Materiel Command, was founded, and headquartered at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico. The Laboratory was named after Gen Samuel C. Phillips, a former Director of the Apollo Manned Lunar Landing Project. In 1997, the Laboratory was merged into the Air Force Research Laboratory as the Space Vehicles and Directed Energy Directorates.
