Albuquerque Economic Development (AED) AED provides confidential assistance to employers considering the metro area for expansion and new investment. Our mission is to recruit new employers to the Albuquerque metro area and help local companies to expand to generate jobs for residents.

AED is a private, non-profit membership organization whose mission is to recruit business and industry to generate quality job opportunities for the Albuquerque metro area. AED serves as an umbrella organization to promote investment in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and Valencia counties. With support from investors and allies in the public sector, AED actively recruits those companies that will export goods or services from New Mexico, thereby bringing new investment dollars to the state. In addition, AED supports local companies with their corporate expansion projects. These economic-based jobs contribute to the area's economic growth, development and diversification, improving the standard of living and opportunities within the Albuquerque area. Our team of economic development professionals is organized to help you obtain the facts you need to thoroughly evaluate the Albuquerque metro area. We can save you countless hours of research and analysis by providing a full complement of services, all at no cost or obligation to you. -Site-Selection Assistance -Labor Market Analysis -Business Incentive Analysis -Workforce Recruitment and Job-Training Assistance -Coordination of State and Local Assistance In addition, our staff can arrange custom site and building tours, schedule meetings with community and state officials, arrange introductions with necessary business contacts, and even serve as a supportive advocate with various regulatory agencies.

The New Mexico Small Business Assistance (NMSBA) Program is accepting Leveraged Project proposals for calendar year 2021.

Leveraged NMBSA projects allow multiple New Mexico small businesses that share technical challenges to request assistance collectively. Projects can be funded up to the sum of the assistance for which each participating company is eligible, with total funding from $40K-$120K. Thank you Netflix for this commitment to the region! AED, New Mexico Economic Development Department, and the City of Albuquerque (Mayor Tim Keller) are celebrating this huge success in this project announcement - $1 billion in additional investment and 1,000 additional jobs.

AED Board Chair Eric Weinstein said, “Netflix’s expansion will bring significant investment in new construction and production spend to our community and state, creating quality opportunities for our seasoned film crew professionals. Our small businesses will greatly benefit from the company’s infusion of capital into our economy through their increased purchases of local goods and services.”
