Remembering John Schroeder
A message from Jim Clark, President & CEO, BGCA

"Early this morning, I learned John Schroeder passed away last night in Orlando, Florida. I was fortunate to get to know John over the past several years but certainly not as well as many did. He was revered throughout our Movement for the enormous impact he had on Boys & Girls Club members, staff and colleagues.

John wore many hats over his 35-year career, and wore them all well. Working for and with Clubs at the local, regional and national levels, his remarkable versatility helped countless organizations to not only succeed but thrive. Whether running Government Relations, managing BGCA operations, or leading our Midwest and Pacific Regions, John’s leadership, people skills and mission-driven mindset always shined through.

When asked to tackle a tough assignment, he invariably took it on with enthusiasm. The bigger the challenge, the more he relished the assignment. Like in 1993, when he oversaw the herculean task of relocating our national office from New York City to Atlanta.

John earned numerous professional honors, including recognition as a Master & Mentor and receiving BGCA’s highest honor, the Thomas G. Garth Award. Top to bottom, he was the quintessential Boys & Girls Club professional. Across his long and storied career, John did it all with professionalism, compassion, intelligence, humor and class."

Hello, I am looking to join the 2021 Board of Directors and I need some support from our amazing teams...The Boys & Girls Clubs are not just a safe, fun, and positive place for our members’ great futures but also our professional staff. I Adam Clough grew up attending the Club as an active member in Torch Club, Keystone, Nike Camp, and taking part in the National Fine Arts program. It was with the guidance of the Club staff that I went on to college to get my bachelors in education and came back to the Clubs as a Youth Development Professional, Program Director and now Club Director. I have had the privilege to attend our National Conference in San Francisco as employee of the year and Chicago in the past to be part of the Club Directors Academy. I know the benefits of TPA and how we can all work together to share ideas and plans to make our Clubs the best place for youth. I always want to represent all of our staff in the choices we make that will impact the future of our Clubs, Kids, and all others involved in the organization. As a member of TPA Board of Director for the Midwest it would be my goal to be your voice and help keep us on track for a GREAT Future! If you would like to sign my petition please email me at [email protected]
can someone share with me the dropbox login information? I cannot seem to find it anywhere. Thank you!
Hi Folks, I'm looking for Dennis Wisniewski. We taught together at South Division HS in the early 70's. Where's he at; what's he doing?
What a great new facility in Scottsdale.... We need a Boys & Girls Club like this one!
Hello BGC Family, My wife Annah Rene Crow, and her firm Crowstead have been working really hard to develop a Annual Report for our club, Boys and Girls Club of the Muskegon Lakeshore and other clubs. She created 3 different template layouts, which we found out could all be easily used by any Club and they are all pretty awesome! Three things: 1) Check out the link below. 2) Help us determine which design/layout our club should use this year by posting your choice here. 3) Let us know if this is something your organization would utilize to share your impact this year. If so, why? If not, why? Thanks for the help Boys & Girls Clubs of America Family!
